    SUBJECT: CAPTIVE FASTENER INSPECTION ON CE


    RADIATOR FAN GUARD ACCESS PLATES

    TERMINATION DATE

    6 Months after published.

    PROBLEM

    On sets fitted with new CE type radiator fan guards, the captive fastener nyloc nuts need to be
    adjusted correctly.
    This procedure must be carried out on the below mentioned sets.

    Safety

    Follow Olympian safety rules and H & S handbook.

    Equipment required

    Service tool kit

    Procedure

    1. Switch off the generator set.

    2. Make sure the genset has been safely isolated from starting

    3. Remove access plate from right and left hand side of radiator guard as shown in image 1.1.1
    below.

    Loosen bolts

    4. Check all access plate nuts/bolts to ensure they all have 4mm of exposed thread after the
    nyloc nut as shown in image 1.1.2 below.

    5. Upfit access guard to finish and tighten all bolts securely as shown in image 1.1.3 below.

    WARRANTY ALLOWANCE

    NOTE: THE SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER MUST BE QUOTED ON THE WARRANTY CLAIM AS
    THE PART NUMBER CAUSING FAILURE.
