Globalization refers to the increasing interconnectedness between countries through advances in technology and trade. While globalization allows for greater exchange of information and goods worldwide, it also increases inequality and has negative impacts on local economies as large multinational corporations dominate. To balance these effects, people can support local businesses, farmers and entrepreneurs to strengthen local economies and communities.

Globalization comes from "globe" and means the worldwide coming
together of countries and nations, advances in technology such as computers, mobile phones, means of transport and communication, and the huge wave of the internet have made the growth of all these networks possible and this means that people around the world and countries can exchange information and goods in a quick and efficient way. There are many advantages and disadvantages of this process we call globalization, is difficult to define it as something good or bad but in my personal opinion globalization has brought us more chaos and inequality in our society, so basically the rich get richer and richer and the poor get poorer and pooter. So, one of the biggest advantages is that the world is interconnected in a way we never been before, is amazing how we have the possibility to talk with people on the other side of the globe, we can discover new cultures and ilimitated information with just one click, mass media including also social media, have given us the opportunity to be aware of everything that happens on our planet in the same second that is happening. Also, international trade has provided us with a world of products from many different countries, sometimes even cheaper from our local products, which is a benefit for our personal economy but not for the general one. This is supposed to be the era of the communication but, are we really communicated? we are the generation that spends more time on our phones than with our true loved ones, all the benefits of technology are behind a shadow of procrastination and misuse of social media taking us apart from reality but this is not the biggest problem, what is happening with the local economy? well, is being devoured by the multinationals, these huge companies and corporations that apparently are here to stay. We definitely can't fight against globalization but what we can do is campaign a little bit more for going local, in that way, we can generate a balance valuing our local business and supporting local farmers, growers, and entrepreneurs, we can't stop the process of globalization but we can be more conscious citizens, help our local economy, stop spending so much time into the screens of our phones and do something that really matters like build our dreams, grow healthy relationships with our loved ones and leave a meaningful mark in the world.
