I. PROJECT CLUSTER
This project focuses on planning the most effective way of encouraging the residents of
Baguio City , specially students of Saint Louis University to donate blood. The supervising
team of this project will use social media as primary platform for spreading the mass blood
donation that will be held on SLU grounds. Besides social media, the team is expected to use
their own voice to urge those who are capable of donating blood for their own health benefit
and most importantly to help those who are in real need of blood.
II. PROJECT NAME
“Connecting' Lives through Blood Donation”

III. PROJECT TERM

The Blood Donation Program will start at 8:00 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon
on the 4th day of March until the 30 th day of March, 2019 at the CC2 of Saint Louis
University.

IV. PARTNERS AND LINKAGES

The Program will be pushed with the help of the whole Louisian Community, through the
support of Philippine Red Cross; they would be in charge on the bloodletting activity.

V. PROJECT RATIONALE

Statement of the Problem


There is an increasing number of desperate patients and families in need of blood units
daily. For a country to have adequate blood supply, the World Health Organization (WHO)
says 1% of the total population must donate blood each year. This project can help prevent
people from dying of lack of blood - a preventable death.

According to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III, "Unpaid, voluntary donation are the
key to a successful National Blood System and we are very pleased to see that, here in the
Philippines, this system was developed." He said that such system not only primarily saves
money and make blood affordable to everybody but at the same time, a way to generate
blood that is safe and promote continuity of blood supply.

Safe blood supply is an essential part of any health system and is crucial for achieving
universal health coverage, as per WHO (World Health Organization).

Mission

This project’s mission is to encourage more people capable of donating blood to


be an extension of lives for others. Likewise, it will build the solidarity of the
community to be active and socially aware citizens.

Vision

The proponents envision a country with an adequate blood supply. Moreover, they
also aim to establish a cost-effective system that is very efficient in providing blood units
to patients.

VI. GENERAL OUTCOMES

1) There will be many people scouted in the blood donation


2) The NSTP-CWTS 2 will feel the spirit of volunteerism and also the scouted people
3) We can be able to apply the four core values of SLU which are Christian-spirit, competent,
creative and socially-involved.
4) The beneficiaries will able to feel the presence of the Lord through the blood donation
activity.
VII. OBJECTIVES

1) To have a better campaign in promoting the blood donation.


2) To be able to help in increasing the number of donations through scouting.
3) To increase the awareness of people about the goodness of donating blood.
4) To promote a healthy living
VIII. SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

1. Number of donors will be observed to participate.


2. NSTP-CWTS 2 students will be the scouts of the volunteers for this activity.
3. The presence of the University core values will be discerned.
IX. PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Activity 1. Advertise the program “Mass Blood Donation” through posters and flyers.

Activity 2. The NSTP supervising instructors will give incentives to students who will
participate in the said program.

Activity 3. Post informative posters.
