MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 11-10-2017 IN THE OFFICE CHAMBER OF

CHIEF SECRETARY, NAGALAND, FOR FINALIZATION OF SITE FOR THE

CONSTRUCTION OF DISTRICT PROJECT OFFICE, LAND RESOURCES,
DEPARTMENT AT KOHIMA , NEAR SECRETARIAT COMPLEX.

The meeting was chaired by Shri. Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government of
Nagaland, the Chief Secretary welcomed all the officers to the meeting.

Secretary Land Resources highlighted the meeting agenda in detail, and Secretary Land
Records and Revenue and Deputy Commissioner, Kohima also explained the position as to how this
land portion of land is within the demarcation of Government land. The following decision has made
in the meeting.

1) It is decided that the matter be put up to the State Level Land Acquisition Authority with an
explanation as to how land was acquired from the private party.
2) The matter will be put up to SLAA for the regularisation of land allotment to the department
of Land Resources.
3) The Deputy Commissioner along with the Land Revenue Officer will verify the spot and
stop the encroachment by the private party.
4) It was observed that there were lapses in the part of the Land Resources Department in
purchasing the land from private party within the jurisdiction of Government land. Hence, it
is seriously viewed and warned the department not to repeat the same error in future.
5) The recovery of land cost paid to the private party becomes impossible as the said person has
expired.
