INTRODUCTION
• HPCL was founded in 1974
• HPCL is a government Indian enterprise with a navaratna status and
Forbes 2000 and global fortune 500.
• According to Indian companies act 1913 it was listed on the bombay
stock exchange and national stock exchange.
• Main products include delivery of diesel, petrol, auto LPG, CNG and
Lubricants
• HPCL have vast marketing network consisting of 13 zonal offices in
major cities and 100 regional offices.
• It is a state owned company, engaged in refining of crude oil and
marketing of oil products.
INCIDENT
• The Fire Accident was happened on Friday Evening
• Construction Of Cooling Tower is going on
• Large number of tanks are placed In front of construction
• 30 workers are removing the debris.
• Fire raised more than 25 feet
• Around 70000 people was left that place insearch of safer places
• Pipeline Leakage
• 22 people were killed and 15 others were injured

• Major Hazards and their consequences
- The storage and use of flammable, explosive or toxic chemicals
having potential to cause death or serious injury to a large number of
people, or cause extensive damage to property or environment

SOLUTIONS
• UMOS for petroleum and Natural Gas P. Lakshmi has distributed
compensation cheques worth of Rs 3.2 crore.
• As a first instalment , HPCL gave 16 cheques for Rs 20 lakh
Each to the families of contract workers killed in cooling tower blast.
• P.Lakshmi said a high level investigation would be ordered in to the
Accident.
