1. Describe the following names:
a. Domingo Lameo (Lamco)-

Lam-co (also called Cua Lam, Cua Yi Lam in Hokkien or Ke Yi-nan in Mandarin) was a native
of Sionque, in the Chinchew district of the province of Fookien. He moved to the Philippines
due the growing political unrest in China.It is said that Lam-co converted to the Catholic
Church because of his sincere desire to be a Catholic. Before he came to the Philippines, he
was already acquainted with Catholicism because his community was a missionary field of
Jesuits and later of the Dominicans.

b. Siang-co and Zun-nio-


In 1697, at the age of 35, Lam-co was baptized at the San Gabriel Church in the
predominantly Chinese community of Binondo.  In his baptismal record, his parents were
simply listed as SIONG-co and JUN-nio.

c. Ines dela Rosa-


Ines (Agnes) Dela Rosa was born at birth place, Arizona, to Zeferino Lopez and Virginia
Lopez.
Ines had 4 siblings: Elio Lopez and 3 other siblings.
Ines married Albert Dela Rosa.
Ines passed away at death place, California.
She was buried in month 2007, at burial place, California.

They adopted the “Realonda” from a list of Spanish surnames provided by Governor Narciso Claveria

9. Describe the house of the Rizal family in Calamba, Laguna

One of the distinguished stones houses in Calamba during Spanish times. It was a 2 storey building in a
rectangular shape, built of adobe stones and hard woods, and roofed with red tiles.

10. How do you describe the family background of the Rizal’s family

Rizal family was simple, contented, and a happy life. The ties between the Rizal, is intimately close. The
acting parents were strict but they love their children.

11. Based on the family background of the Rizal’s family how they treasure the importance of education
inside their home?

They treated education as a weapon for ignorance and knowing the world more better. Teodora and
Francisco sent their children to colleges in Manila.

12. How did the parents of the Rizal family rear their children in terms of family discipline and
religiosity? Evidently they believed in the maxim: “Spare the rod and spoil child” Teodora and Francisco
love their children, but they never spoiled them. They trained their child to love God, to be obedient,
and to behave well.
13. How do you describe the Rizal’s family as a middle class family?

They were one of the distinguished families in Calamba. By dint of honest and hardwork and frugal
living, Rizal’s parents were able to live well.
