washing easier. We have free-standing machines, one with a shallow depth, making it
ideal for small spaces, and one fully integrated machine. The fully integrated machine is
designed to fit between FAKTUM base cabinets and can be fitted with a door in the same
design as the rest of your kitchen or laundry room. A new washing machine means you
reduce energy consumption while enjoying new functions. IKEA washing machines have
been developed together with Electrolux and each IKEA washing machine comes with a
free 5-year guarantee to give you peace of mind.

Washing machines
Washing machines for any need
Whether you spend little or much time doing the
laundry, if you have a small or a big family, IKEA
has something to make your washing simpler and
more enjoyable. Furthermore, you can relax with
our free 5-year guarantee that covers faults of the
washing machine caused by defective construction
or material faults (read more in the separate
guarantee folder that you'll find in the store).

Save energy – and help the environment

Choose a longer programme. You can reduce the
temperature and still get a good washing result
with normally soiled laundry. The Economy 40
programme, for example, is a longer-than-average
programme but gives an A in both washing and
energy at only 40° C. This programme also means
you can wash mixed textiles together, allowing
you to fill up the drum better.
Use the cottons programmes. They wash more
efficiently then the other programmes, using less
water and energy per kilogram and also allow you
to wash a full load with first-class results. The
Cottons Economy programmes (60° C and 40° C)
offer the best savings. Use the lowest suitable
temperature.
Always wash with a full drum. Our machines
adjust water consumption to the load but the
consumption of energy, water and time will
nevertheless always be the lowest per kilogram
when you fill up the drum. But don’t overload the
washer. Your clothes may not get fully clean and
may need to be washed again. This is a waste of
energy, water and time.
Spin the clothes at high speed. Nothing affects the
drying time and energy consumption so much as
the moisture in the laundry to be dried. Higher
spin speeds get clothes as dry as possible and will
not damage the laundry except in very rare cases
with ultra-sensitive garments.
Hand wash in your machine. Believe it or not, a
modern washing machine 'hand washes' more
gently than you do and is more economical.
Air your clothes often. Ask yourself if you really
need to wash that garment.

Install an integrated washing machine

Place your integrated washing machine between two FAKTUM base cabinets under a shared worktop. FIXA
diffusion barrier shall be mounted to the underside of the worktop for added protection against moisture.
