percentage overshoots when the pump is subjected to various step increases in the delivery
pressure, as well as the collision velocity between the control piston and the stroke limiter at
different values of the step drop of delivery pressure. This program is shown in Appendix
[1]. In this program the settling time was calculated at the time after which the response is
always within ±5% of the steady state. The obtained simulation results are presented in Figs.
