What to Do Before an Earthquake

1. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a battery-powered radio, a
flashlight, and extra batteries at home.
2. Learn first aid.
3. Learn how to turn off the gas, water, and electricity.
4. Make up a plan of where to meet your family after an earthquake.

5. Learn the earthquake plan at your school or workplace.


What to Do During an Earthquake

1. Stay calm! If you're indoors, stay inside. If you're outside, stay


outside.
2. Do the Duck ,Cover, and Hold

3. If you're in a car, stop the car and stay inside the car until the
earthquake stops.
4. If you're outdoors, stay in the open away from power lines or
anything that might fall. Stay away from buildings (stuff might fall
off the building or the building could fall on you).

5. Contact your love ones


What to Do After an Earthquake

1. Check yourself and others for injuries. Provide first aid for
anyone who needs it.

2. Turn on the radio. Don't use the phone unless it's an


emergency.
3. Be careful of chimneys (they may fall on you)

4. Stay away from beaches. Tsunamis and seiches sometimes hit


after the ground has stopped shaking.
5. Stay away from damaged areas.

Don’ts Before an Earthquake

1. Don't leave heavy objects on shelves (they'll fall during a


quake).
2. Do not go any where just stay at home

3. Do not leave your child at all cost


4. Do not forget things you’ll gonna need during earthquakes

5. Do not do unnecessary things before earthquake (Stay safe)


Don’ts During an Earthquake

1. Don't use matches, candles, or any flame. Broken gas lines and
fire don't mix.

2. Don't use elevators (they'll probably get stuck anyway).


3. DO NOT use your telephone, EXCEPT for a medical or fire
emergency.

4. DO NOT expect firefighters, police or paramedics to help you.


They may not be available.
5. Do not do such things that may affect your health

Don’ts after an Earthquake

1. Do not go to the mountain area to avoid


landslide
2.DO NOT attempt to move seriously injured
persons unless they are in further danger of
injury

3.Don't light your kitchen stove if you suspect


a gas leak
4.Do not use sockets at your house to avoid
fire

5.Don’t stay at your home after earthquake
