Topic 5:     Traffic Congestion

Unit of Analysis: TMU-Baguio City/traffic enforcers/student commuters/jeepney drivers
Researcher’s Interest: Highly satisfied. It enables us to analyze whether a policy is effective
or not.
Researcher’s Competence, Capabilities and Limitations: Highly satisfied.  We will be
dealing with most of the people who we think are most likely not to require difficult protocols
so it would be easier for us to conduct the research on them.
Researcher’s Own Resource: Highly satisfied. It is a localized research so it would not cost a
lot of money and time to complete it.
"Researchability"  of the Problem: Highly satisfied. Traffic at Brgy. Magsaysay had been a
problem for a long time but it had not been improved up to this moment so it is important to
find out what is being done or what should be done to address it.
 Importance/Social relevance: Highly satisfied. It helps the TMU-Baguio city know whether
their implementation of policies meets the standards and so they could formulate other
alternatives as well as for the commuters to find out if the TMU is efficient in the traffic
management.
Novelty/Uniqueness of the Problem: Highly satisfied. There are existing researches on traffic
policies but we will be more focused on their effectivity only in at Brgy. Magsaysay.
Feasibility: Highly satisfied. To seek the permission of the TMU to conduct a research in their
office is our only challenge in this research but we are believe in our capacity to do it.
Ethical: Highly satisfied. It is our first step to send the TMU office a formal written request
together with the schedule and place, and if they approve, that is the time we will conduct the
research.
