 Reflection
I am working in a Pre-K classroom at Citronelle Head Start. While working with young

children daily will be different. Every day my cooperating teacher and I work together to make

the learning environment safe and fun for the students to enjoy. On a personal professional level,

I would strongly suggest that a teacher builds a good relationship with her students. This will

help get to know the student’s strengths and weaknesses. All students should be giving the

opportunity to learn and participate in all school activities. My self-assessment supports my

professional dispositions statement because I believe all students can learn. I believe we as

teachers should make the time to get to know our students. I try to make sure that all my lessons

meet all the students learning levels. As a teacher, I try to make sure that all my lessons are fun

and interactive to help get my students interested in the lesson. Working with my mentor teacher

and other teachers, I have grown professionally. My mentor teacher and I have been working

together planning activities for the students. My mentor teacher showed me that allowing

students to perform an activity by them self before I help makes them gain independence. This

will let the student get more independent and want to work by them self before relying on

someone else to always help. The connection that I found between Professional Dispositions and

the Model Code of Ethics is that teachers need to be learning and taking responsibility for our

own actions. Teachers need to get to know their students as well as their families. I feel that

teachers need to respect and take pride in ourselves and the work that we do for our students. We

need to be professional every day. They way we act and carry ourselves is looked upon by many

different people. To help improve myself in my teaching skills, is that I try to collaborate with

other educators and work on getting to know my students more. Although, I view teaching as a

collaborative effort among teachers a 5= Strongly Agree. I would like to collaborate effort with

others teachers with improving my skills with getting to know my students and their families.

This will help me to better understand my students and teach them the skills they need to have to

better their learning ability.
