scientists in the field of medicine, we are expected to research on cures that could help treat the
most baffling of diseases. If we do not take care of our resources, then there might come a day
that we find no cure for the most challenging of diseases.

Hence, even as medical students, I believe that simple things such as waste segregation, proper
throwing of trash / cigarette butts and educating the community about the importance of
conservation can go a long way. Who knows, maybe the cure to COVID-19 is a protein extracted
from the blood of a tamaraw – something that would be impossible to get if we don’t start caring
about the little details.
