Service Terms & Conditions


For American Sign Language Interpreting Services through C.B. Interpreting

1. Rates
 Initial appearance fee of $100 which covers up to two (2) hours’ worth of service
o Each additional hour: $45
 Estimates may be discussed through an agency or upon request
 Special Rates:
o Rates may be increased by 50% during any federal/legal holidays
o Legal, Medical, and Performing Art settings may have an additional charge
depending on the specific skill, practice hours, or equipment required for the
assignment (rates may be negotiated at time of hire)
o Weekend rates: $55 ($45 hourly rate + $10 weekend fee)
o Emergency rates: $90 ($45 hourly rate + $45 emergency fee)
o Overnight rates (between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.): $60 ($45 hourly rate +
$15 overnight fee)

2. Cancellation Policy
 Cancellations made within a week before the event will have NO charge and NO additional
fee
 Cancellations made 2-3 days before the assignment will incur a cancellation fee of $50
 Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur an appearance fee of $100

3. Payment & Fees


 Detailed invoices will be emailed showing costs of services and any applicable fees
o Note: Correspondence by mail is available upon request
 Payments can be made by:
o Cash
o Check: written to C.B. Interpreting

 Fees:
o Payments made more than 14 days after the invoice been sent will be charged an
additional 10% as a late deposit fee

4. Travel Time & Service Fees


 Mileage will be charged after exceeding 15 miles. Each mile after that will be charged 57.5
cents per mile, or 0.575/mi.
 Any additional fees such as; parking, service charge, hotel fees, court fees, meals, etc. may be
charged and will be itemized on the invoice with proper copies of receipts attached.

5. Disclosure & Information


 Failure to provide basic information about an assignment including but not limited to the
name of the clientele may result in a denied assignment.
 Everything at the assignment will be interpreted, including but not limited to side comments,
conversation within earshot, and environmental information.
 Note that I will always arrive 15-30 minutes earlier than scheduled to gather/discuss any
additional information needed and to meet with the proper clientele.

6. Team Interpreter
 Assignments deemed arduous are recommended to request a team interpreter.
 Depending on the assignment or clientele a Certified Deaf Interpreter may be needed.
 Team interpreting provides the proper tools to effectively facilitate communication.
 All rates and requested information will be provided in earlier estimate conversations.

7. Extenuating Circumstances
 Assignments may be affected by extenuating circumstances such as inclement weather. Each
assignment affected will be discussed and may or may not result in the waiving of all fees
depending on the circumstance.
