Since the industry is in such an infancy stage and it has not penetrated the Indian market as much as it can,
that’s why we could not find a bionic company in Ahmedabad, but there is a similar market of prosthetic
which is a substitute for the bionics industry and share the same target customers ,so we can infer some of
the areas of this industry by it. Hence, we visited GetBak.
Q1. What was the initial investment to start the business and what were the licenses required?
Initial investment for the setup is around INR. 2 Crore. RCI number of the doctor along with the GST
registration number is required. Company need to be registered. We have registered it as a proprietorship
firm.
Q2. What items were required to setup the office or clinic?
Basic office inventory along with all the inventory related to Prosthesis like Oven, Sheets, Knee joints, foot
etc. and Orthosis like pressure garment fabric, sheets to prepare splints and insole are required.
Q3. What are the various categories of products and prosthetics offered?
In Prosthesis we provide upper limbs prosthesis like hands (both above elbow and below elbow) and in
lower limb prosthesis we provide above knee and below knee leg prosthesis. In cosmetic we provide full
body cosmetic prosthesis like fingers, hands, eyes, nose, ears etc.
Q4. Who are the primary suppliers of the product and how do you procure them?
Basically, we procure from all the vendors available in market like endolite, ottobock, Ossure &
Willowwood.
Q5. How do the suppliers manufacture the product?
Supper manufacture the product in their own factory based on the research they do.
Q6. What was the idea behind starting GetBak?
GetBak was started with an idea to provide high technology prosthesis to India patient at an affordable
price. Multinational company was providing the prosthesis at a very high cost and so many patient were not
able to take benefit of this prosthesis. In order to overcome this challenge GetBak was started so that all the
needy people were able to take the benefit of prosthesis and relive the life again.
Q7. What is the pricing strategy? How do you charge the clients and how much does the rate vary?
We provide the prosthesis at very affordable price. As we had a tie up with many vendors we can get the
same quality prosthesis at a lower price which a multinational company use to sell at higher price. We
charge the client based on their preference of buying the prosthesis. We recommend the best suited
prosthesis in their price range. In case any patient wants to buy any particular part of prosthesis we provide
them based on the price we procure.
Q8. Who is your potential competition in the city?
There are five prosthesis providing companies in Ahmedabad apart from GetBak

Q9. No. of employees and their roles?
GetBak is currently having 3 employees. 2 doctors (Prosthetist and Orthostist ) and 1 Office boy. Dr
Chandani Korat (Owner is also a doctor apart from 2 other Doctors.)
Q10. How do you manage inventory?
It’s Make to Order so there is no need to manage inventory more. Basic inventory are available in center.
Other are procure based on the requirement.
