C. Explain

D. Elaborate Now, find the reference angle of the given measure using the
formula to find the reference angles.
Example 1: Find the reference angle for 300 degrees. Solution:
First, we will locate the given measure on what
quadrant it lies.

Since 300° is in the quadrant IV,

we will use the β = 360 – θ.
So, β = 360 - 300°
β = 60°
Example 2: Find the reference angle for each angle in the standard Solution:
position:
a. 150° b. 472° c. 390° d. -280° a. First, we will locate the given measure on what
quadrant it lies.

Since 150° is in the quadrant II, we will use the β =

180 – θ.
So, β = 180 - 150°
β = 30°

b. First, we will locate the given measure on what

quadrant it lies.
Since 472° is in the quadrant II, we will use the β =
180 – θ.
But first, we can subtract 360 from 472.
It will be 112°
So, β = 180 - 112°
β = 68°

c. First, we will locate the given measure on what

quadrant it lies.

Since 390° is in the quadrant I,

we will first subtract 360 from 390. It will be 30°
So, applying the rule in first quadrant, the given angle
is also the reference angle.
So, the answer is 30°

d. First, we will locate the given measure on what

quadrant it lies.

Since -280° is in the quadrant I, we will first subtract

280 from 360. It will be 80°
So, applying the rule in first quadrant, the given angle
is also the reference angle.
So, the answer is 80°
