Det. Timothy Wiley, being duly sworn upon his oath, says that:

I am an Indiana Law Enforcement Officer ofthe South Bend Police Depanment and currently assigned to

the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, and make this afl'ldavit

based upon my investigation and that of my fellow officers.

That facts which form the basis for the belief that there is probable cause to believe that RICHARD LEE
ALEXANDER has committed the crime(s) of Count l: Murder, a Felony; Count 2: Invasion of Privacy, a

Class A Misdemeanor are as follows:

On September l3, 2020 at about 5: l9 AM South Bend dispatch received a call for a welfare check at-
Fairview. In searching the area, a female was found down in the lawn alongside the house with apparent

trauma, and was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Catherine Minix,

located. Surveillance footage was recovered from a neighbor's home to the South and a larger and smaller

figure could be seen leaving the back of the Minix home and walking into the alley at about 2:24 AM. A
blood trail began behind Ms. Minix's next door neighbor's garage in the alley and led to where her body was

located. An autopsy has determined that Ms. Minix died of a stab wound.

The 9-l-l caller was identified as Mr. S.W., a friend of Richard ALEXANDER who was staying at the
home of ALEXANDER'S sister. Mr. S.W. stated that ALEXANDER came to the house very early on the
13th and stated that Mr. S.W. should call 9- l-l and send them to
- Fairview because he was concerned

about his girl. ALEXANDER waited while S.W. made the call, then lefi. ALEXANDER's sister confirmed
that she let ALEXANDER into the house very early that morning and that he went and talked to S.W. while

she went back to bed.

Richard ALEXANDER has a history of domestic violence with Ms. Minix, and a current No Contact
