First, we will discuss the difference between the sensible heat and latent heat.

Sensible heat is a form of


energy which we can sense because of the temperature difference. On the other hand, phase changes is
applied on latent heat like solid to liquid, liquid to gas, and etc. The formula to be used in
thermodynamics for closed system is ΔU = Q - PΔV. The Q in the equation refers to the energy
represented by heat capacity and enthalpy. The PΔV refers to the constant pressure at variable volume.
In internal energy, it involves the change in temperature at constant volume. The equation for internal
energy is ΔU = n · cᵥ · ΔT, wherein n refers to the number of moles or the mass, cᵥ refers to the specific
heat at constant volume, and while ΔT refers to the change in temperature. As discussed in the video, an
unfilled open container which contains water that has an atmospheric atmosphere is an example
situation. The thing needs to be done is to get the volume of water to be poured in to the container.
