HISTORY OF MUNICIPALITY OF SAN FABIAN, PANGASINAN

San Fabian is a first-class municipality with thirty-four barangays (34) located in

the province of Pangasinan, Philippines and was founded on the 23 rd of March 1717. It
was named after the crusading Pope St. Fabian, who ruled the Roman Catholic Church
for almost thirteen years during the rule of Roman Emperor Dictus. The town used to be
called Angio, and had been a mission territory of friars of the Dominican Order during
the Spanish era. Today, it is attracting tourists with its wonderful beaches.
The main source of income of the people in San Fabian is fishing. Along the
highway of San Fabian, you can see a lot of bundled of coconuts or copra tree as it was
planted by the townpeople of San Fabian, Pangasinan. Those green colored big nuts or
also known as coconuts is the proudly assets of people of San Fabian. A native delicacy
of San Fabian, Tupig is made of coconut meat that is shredded into thin coconut meats,
glutinous rice, margarine, brown sugar, coconut milk and banana leaves.

HISTORY OF SAN FABIAN FIRE STATION

It was in the year 2002 when Hon Mojamito R Libunao Jr, (2001-2010)
Municipal Mayor of San Fabian, Pangasinan funded various machineries, Heavy
Equipments trucks and Fire truck.
It was also, then the beginning of every resident lessen their worries if ever a
destructive fire will emerge in their residential, commercial, agricultural land and
lot. The Municipal Mayor then eventually contacted the BFP Provincial Office in
order to arrange its plan in the creation of Fire Service in the Municipality of San
Fabian. It was CINSP RICHARD VILLANUEVA (DSC) BFP by then was the BFP
Provincial Fire Marshal, who represented and arrange the actualization of said
plan, Sangguniang Bayan members invited no other than the Provincial Fire
Marshal and staffs to talk and finalize agreements on how the Fire Service in
effect. LGU representative and immediate personnel were housed and given one
portion quarters from the San Fabian Sports Center

As the new, LGU Chief Executive took its office in the person of
Hon CONSTANTE B AGBAYANI and new majority members of the
SANGGUNIANG BAYAN were elected, the Municipal Fire Marshal did not feel
hesitant to discuss the donation of a lot intended for construction of Fire Station
that the Chief Executive gave his approval and Sangguniang Bayan members
extends also their strongly approval and Finally, Deed of Absolute Donation was
signed by both parties, as represented by Chief Executive LGU of San Fabian
and SRSUPT ALOVEEL B FERRER (DSC) BFP was acknowledge dated
November 3, 2013, with an area of 300 sqm.
