BASIC ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SYMBOLS HARNESS AND WIRE SYMBOLS

Wire, Cable, or Harness Assembly Identification:
Fuse: A component in an electrical circuit that will open the circuit if too much current flows through it. Includes Harness Identification Letters and Harness
Connector Serialization Codes (see sample).
Switch (Normally Open): A switch that will close at a specified point (temp, press, etc.). The circle indicates
that the component has screw terminals and a wire can be disconnected from it.
AG-C4 L-C12
Switch (Normally Closed): A switch that will open at a specified point (temp, press, etc.). 111-7898 3E-5179
No circle indicates that the wire cannot be disconnected from the component. Part Number: for 1
Connector Plug
Ground (Wired): This indicates that the component is connected to a grounded wire. 2
The grounded wire is fastened to the machine.
Plug Receptacle
Pin or Socket Number
Ground (Case): This indicates that the component does not have a wire connected to ground.
It is grounded by being fastened to the machine. Harness Identification Letter(s): (A, B, C, AA, AB, AC, ...)

Reed Switch: A switch whose contacts are controlled by a magnet. A magnet closes the contacts of Harness Connector Serialization Code: The "C" stands for
"Connector" and the number indicates which connector in the
a normally open reed switch; it opens the contacts of a normally closed reed switch.

IMPLEMENT CIRCUIT
implement pump suction line
This illustration to the left shows the variable displacement
40 implement pump and the fixed displacement fan pump.
The implement pump control valve receives an implement
load signal from the implement valve signal network to
control pump displacement.

Fan speed is controlled by a PWM solenoid in the fan

control manifold or reversing fan
manifold.

Components shown include the:

(1) variable displacement implement pump.

1 (40) fan pump.

(Figure: 7)

Fill Tube
On the 953D the hydraulic oil tank is mounted in the left front of
the machine (50). An oil level sight gauge is mounted to the left
hand side of the tank and is visible while standing at the left 50
front side of the machine.

The tank can be filled from above the machine through the fill 57
tube.

The hydraulic oil temperature sensor (not shown) is mounted 11

to the rear of the tank near pump suction line hoses.

To the left of the tank are the main hydraulic control valve
group (57) and the accumulator for the pilot system (11).

Just below the cab filter compartment the
following components can be accessed:

(E) the cab support brace.

(F) the hydraulic test panel.

(G) one of the hystat charge filters for the

963D. The second hydraulic filter is
mounted behind the first one. See E
(figure:1) and (figure:4) for the location of
the 953D hystat filters (item number 35).

(H) the hand pump to raise the cab.

F (Figure: 3)

The cab may be tilted nearly 90° forward to access some of the system components. The cab support brace (1) will
support the cab at a maximum angle of approximately 30°. Angling the cab further than 30° requires the use of a hoist or
service truck boom.

NOTE: The hystat charge filters are mounted at the left rear in the engine compartment on the 953D.
