COURSE TITLE : PLUMBER NC II

NOMINAL DURATION : 162 hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION :

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, positive attitude and work
values in accordance with international standards. It covers the competencies required in
Preparing pipes for installation, Performing minor construction works , Making piping joints
and connections, Perform single unit plumbing installation and assemblies, and Performing
plumbing repair and maintenance works.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidate/trainee must reach/poses any of the following qualification:
 Can communicate both oral and written
 Can perform basic mathematical computation
 Good moral character; and
 Physically and mentally fit

TRAINER’S QUALIFICATIONS:

 Must have completed a Trainers Training Methodology Course (TM II) or its equivalent

with clean-outs in the required locations prescribed in the approved work plan.
3. Approved fittings are used in installing drainage/sewer piping.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

1. Correct specification of pipes and joints are used in accordance with the job
requirements/specifications.
2. Bottom of the water pipes at all joints shall be at least 0.3 meter from the sewer
of drain line.
3. Plumbing fixtures are installed according to specified rough-in measurements
and/or manufacturer’s specifications and required standard in RNPCP.
4. Plumbing fixtures are rigidly secured with strict adherence to perpendicularity and
levelness.
5. All assemblies are in conformity with the listed standard.
6. Correct use of tools and materials and equipment is observed in accordance with
manufacturer’s specifications.
7. Appropriate PPE are used in accordance with the job requirements.
8. Worksite is cleaned and kept in safe condition in accordance with OHSA
regulation.

What is Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)?

 A competency-based curriculum is a framework or guide for the


subsequent detailed development of competencies, associated
methodologies, training and assessment resources.

 The CBC specifies the outcomes which are consistent with the
requirements of the workplace as agreed through the industry or
community consultations.

 CBC can be developed immediately when competency standards exist.

 When competency standards do not exist, curriculum developers need


to clearly define the learning outcomes to be attained. The standard of
performance required must be appropriate to industry and occupational
needs through the industry/enterprise or specified client group
consultations.
