countable uncountable
many A lot of

4. If you don't know the difference between countable and uncountable nouns,
research it and add it to your document.
In English grammar, countable nouns are individual people, animals, places, things, or
ideas which can be counted. Uncountable nouns are not individual objects, so they
cannot be counted.
INCONTABLE NAMES
Countless names refer to things we cannot count. They can identify ideas or abstract
qualities and physical objects that are too small or amorphous to count (liquids,
powdered substances, gases, etc.). Countless names carry the verb in the singular. In
general, they have no plural form. Examples:
Tea
Water
Sugar
Air
COUNTABLE NOUNS
Accounting names refer to things we can count using numbers. They have a form for the
singular and another for the plural. The singular can use the determinant "a" or "an". To
ask for the amount of an accounting name, we use "How many?" with the accounting
name in the plural. Example:
She has three dogs.
I own a house.
I would like two books please.
How many friends do you have?
