Fossil Making: Process

“DUCK”
1) The first step in fossilizing a duck is of course to kill it. Slit the throat and
aim for the jugular vein for the blood to be removed from the duck’s body.
2) If the duck has dead, it’s the time for the feather removal. Patiently remove
all the feathers.
3) After you removed all of the feathers, put the duck in a boiling water and
let it boil for two hours.
4) After two hours, remove the duck from boiling and ready a table for organ
and skin removal of the duck.
5) Remove the skin first using a scalpel or a knife. Then cut the abdominal part
of the duck to remove the internal organs.
6) After which, it’s now time for the very crucial and difficult part of
fossilization, the removal of the muscles and tissues. Carefully remove the
muscles and tissues with a puller, for removing the tiny ones and scissors,
for cutting the larger ones.
7) After you remove all the muscles and tissues, it’s now the time for you to
clean the joints. For you to be able to clean the joints, you need to detach
them.
8) After cleaning the joints, arrange the parts where you detach the joints.
Attached the joints by using a super glue and then glue its surroundings
with a stick glue to ensure the attachment.
9) When you’re finish with all the steps, you have now the duck fossil.

Fossil making needs patience and a lot of time. It may not be very easy, but it’s
worth it!
