Guidance and Evaluation Center

As a formation and support service center, the Guidance and


Evaluation Center (GEC) contributes to the fulfillment of the
University’s mission of providing holistic formation to the youth
and fostering a culture of openness and dialogue between and
among sectors in the campus.
GEC offers services and programs that help its clientele
recognize their potentials and skills, in order to:

 Make and attain realistic life goals;

 Become mature, responsible and


self-motivated members of the
community; and

 Integrate their university life

COUNSELING

Considered as the heart of the school guidance services,


counseling is provided for individuals and groups. It integrates all
the data gathered about the client and his / her environment in
order to facilitate growth and adjustment, problem-solving and
decision-making, crisis-intervention, personal-social wellness
and development.
PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING

Involves the use of standardized psychological tests,


instruments or measurement device, psychological testing
service intends to quantify, understand, predict, and/or
evaluate behavior, mental abilities and other personal
characteristics of individuals.
INDIVIDUAL INVENTORY

Designed to systematically collect, evaluate, and


interpret data in order to determine the characteristics
and potential of every client for purposes of proper
diagnoses, counseling, predicting progress and
behaviors, accurate placement, and program evaluation.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT and PLACEMENT

Assists individuals in preparing themselves to


secure the most appropriate career choices
and establish the most effective relationship
with their future chosen course.
INFORMATION, TRAINING, CONSULTANCY AND RESEARCH

Provided in the context of community extension, these services


facilitate acquisition of certain kinds of knowledge, skills,
attitudes and values relevant and responsive to personal-social,
organizational and/or community needs and development.
REFERRAL

Referral service is facilitated to assist clients in availing of specialized


professional services that are beyond the scope and expertise of the
guidance counselors, and are needed to address the clients’ specific
concerns that include, but are not limited to, psychiatric, medical, legal
and other related conditions.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR CHILDREN WITH PARENTS ABROAD

Members of this support group meet regularly for sharing


and learning activities and create opportunities for
discussions of feelings and experiences in an accepting and
supportive environment.
PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP

As a support group for Lasallian parents, PSG serves as a


responsive and dynamic venue for capacity–building
towards effective and responsible parenting.
SHARE-A-MEAL (SAM) PROGRAM

This supports students-at-risk with free lunch courtesy of in-


school donors, external benefactors and Alumni, and monitors
them regularly for their psycho-social condition and academic
standing.
THE BRIDGE PEER FACILITATORS-VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Aims to develop a corps of Peer-Facilitators among


students who exemplify attitudes and values towards
volunteerism and committed collegial services in campus.
PROJECT-SUPPORT THE AT-RISK YOUTH (PROJECT-STAY)

This is an interdisciplinary and collaborative intervention


program for students on academic probation, using a
strengths-based approach for them to achieve academic
success.
