The main objective of this project was to enable me to know how to acquire skills and
knowledge about a chair.

Main benefits of this project

It has introduced me into a world of work which requires innovation

It has improved on my skills and knowledge through working and practicing in workshop

It has improved on my standards of living interms of income

Procedures followed
The following were the procedures followed

- I used hark saw and I cat the dimensions of stated above.

- I used a file to smoothening the finished products clearly.
- I used a tape measure and I measured the dimensions where the length was 250x4
widths 200x3 and the weight was 500x4.
- I wore the welding goggle and then I used the welding machine and welding rod to
join the metals.
- I used a file to smoothening the edger to end up with good finishing.
- I brought the materials out of the store.

Out comes
- The design I drown was come out properly
- The colour I wanted was come out properly
- The chair was manufactured properly
- The chair I wanted was came out.

5
Challenges and mitigations

Challenges mitigation
Lack of shades Rooms should be constructed
Limited working space Buy land for expansion
Bad weather conditions Provided good shelter
High transport costs We looked for nearby shop
High costs of materials We looked for nearby shop
Theft We improved on security

Lessons learnt
According to what I did, the following are lessons that I learnt

- I learnt how to use a welding machine

- I learnt how to handle a hack saw
- I got the costs of different materials that were used to make up a chair.
- I learnt how to associate with other people.
- I learnt how to budget for a given task.

Recommendation
- I recommend to the UBTEB officials to continue with this project because it
introduces us to the field of work
- I recommend to the institute to get for us supervisors during our project report.
- I recommend the Uganda business and technical examination board to go ahead
with this program.
- I recommend the institute to construct shelter were the project are done.
- I recommend to the Uganda business and technical examinations board. To reduce
the money for project work.
