What to do after arrival?

 FIRST, put the plants in a bowl with rain water and soak them for about 30 minutes but that’s
only if they look dehydrated. Most often, the plants arrive rather moist even after delayed
shipping! If everything is moist during unpacking, no need.

 If you see some black traps or leaves, it is advisable to cut them off. as long as the bulb
stays white, they usually recover well.
 If you have a hard time planting the plants because the traps are bending down, you can
bury the outer traps partially. The white bulb part should be under soil level, but not too deep
either, as it can promote root rot.
  Keep the VFT out of direct sun (up to 8:30 am ok!), but still very very bright until it has grown
some healthy leaves (2-3 weeks).

 DON’T create an environment that increases humidity. No greenhouse, aquarium, no plastic

boxes, no plastic bags. These are temperate plants and the Philippines is very humid
already. A good airflow is much better and is non-existent if you cover them. Then you can
gradually expose it to some direct or filtered sun

How to properly acclimate our plants

- Upon arrival/repotting, place your plants in a shaded area in a span of 1 -2 weeks

- Wait for your plant to produce new healthy leaves
- Slowly introduce your plant to brighter area/ direct sun
- Gradually increase light duration
- If your plant looks healthier then that’s a sign that you’re doing the acclimation process properly
- Higher humidity can help shorten the acclimation process

  Always trim brown or black leaves to avoid diseases. Do not tease the traps. They can open and
close only a limited number of times (3-4 times).
 Closed traps are normal because of transit.
 If your growing media smells like sewer repot it ASAP.
 If you saw a web like structure around your plant but you can't see any spider. Submerged it
in low minerals water for 1-2 days.( for spider mites, grub, aphids and scale infestation)
 Don't manual overfeed for beautifully formed Venus Fly Trap leaves.
 If you are using water tray method, always let it dry before filling it up again. And every
week it is better to clean your plastic tray to remove accumulated waste.
 To increase humidity, you can use live sphagnum moss as toppings. You can put other non-
carnivorous plant around your collection but careful when you water it.

SEVEN LEAVES
The Venus' Flytrap also reproduces via its rhizome. It never has more than seven leaves. If your
plant has more then seven leaves, it has already split off another plant from the mother plant.
