1. Should Ms. Marie have vacated the HR position in the first place since there was a new
person on board already? Or was she correct in not giving in immediately since she was
there from the start when Janice was attending to her academics? Explain your answers.
Ms. Marie should have vacated the HR position in the first place for the fact that,
before accepting the job offered to her by Janice, she already know that she is not that
capable of doing the job, for she is not that knowledgeable on what it meant to be in the HR
and having no experience of what is it to be in the HR is one of the main reason why, due to
the fact that she is focused only being the trainer to her airline company. Since Janice had no
choice but to outsource the function she then hired Anton despite the fact that he is a nursing
graduate thus the fact that he had a background for HR made him more capable of doing the
job. Also the fact that he is more determined on working not just in the HR but also works for
business strategies that will greatly help the company succeed, this only shows that he is
more capable of doing the job rather than Ms. Marie who is more focused on being a trainer.

2. The program with Pilipinas Liners, who should have control on it? Should it be
FLIGHT, or Ms. Marie's training company? Explain.
Flight Inc. has more right to control the program rather than Ms. Marie’s training
company for the fact that she is just assigned to train the 700 employees which are composed
of bus drivers, conductors, and employees. Ms. Marie has no right to control nor claim the
program like she owns it, because in the first place, she was under Flight Inc. when she
accepted the job to train the employees of Pilipinas Liners and it is her wrong to assume that
the program she handle was her own just because she manages it for a year. Lastly, the main
reason why Flight Inc. has the more right to control the program for the fact that Janice was
the one who accepted the offer and just ask Ms. Marie if she can handle training them despite
the number of employees that will undergo the training. In the end, Ms. Marie has no right to
claim and control the program for she is an employee to the Flight Inc. and her company has
nothing to do with the training of employees of Pilipinas Liners.

3. To avoid any other complications, would you recommend that neither FLIGHT Inc., nor
Ms. Marie's company run the program? Explain.
We suggest that flight incorporation will still manage their corporation because even
though Ms. Marie's company has the knowledge about that incorporation and, she was a close
friend of Mr. Javonte. It is not advisable to give the authority to manage that incorporation,
why? because first, the employees don't have any connection with Ms. Marie will have a big
impact on their organization because chemistry in a certain group of working people is a
must, when FLIGHT INC. itself managed their own incorporation they have the so called
culture that have been set during when Mr. Javonte is still there. Also, one reason why it is
not advisable because Ms. Marie's company is always busy because they have their own
system in their company, so if Ms. Marie's company managed flight inc. her time will be half
into two and a manager should focus on one company because it is a big responsibility for a
manager to manage a company properly.

4. Meg's behaviors are a cause for alarm, yet their culture was very forgiving. If you were
the HR consultant, what would you recommend to Janice in dealing with Meg? Explain.
If we were the HR consultant, we will recommend Janice to gather feedback from
Meg’s colleague regarding the issues about her behaviour towards them and to apply the
policies of the company on Meg’s actions. Why do we need to gather feedback? To show the
employees that the company also listens to them and to show transparency on these kinds of
issues. Second is to apply the appropriate sanctions to Meg based on the company policies,
this is to show that the policies should be followed, and it is to solidify the ethics of the
company.

These actions would clear the air for the company, because if Janice wouldn't take actions
regarding this the other employee might think that breaking the company is understandable as
long as an apology is accepted and may also lead into abusive behaviours.

5. Moving forward, do you think that hiring such a relative would be okay, or not
anymore? Explain.
We do not think it is advisable to hire a relative anymore in a single company because
for us it is the same with a political dynasty. It is not helpful and it is not going to be
productive, it will also cause some problems in terms of having equality in a certain
corporation because when we are working with our relatives we can't deny that there will be a
relation over goal sometimes. Also, they will expect extra freedoms in your corporation. They
might also be bossy with their colleagues because they have a relationship with the CEO or
owner of a certain corporation. Most of the time hiring a relative is just you wanting to help
them not because they are the best qualified so it is not healthy in a corporation because
sometimes there is a better person than your relative. It will be very hard for the CEO or
owner to scold them if they did the wrong thing as they are blood-related then emotions will
always be involved. It may also lead to a poor work performance or delayed work because
they are not that afraid to make mistakes as they know you cannot easily terminate them, and
it will cause your relationship to change forever.
