DESIGN OF BASE PLATE AND ANCHOR BOLT

Column Size : ISMB 600

Assumptions
1. Capacity check is carried out for the base plate for 1.2 times the plastic moment capacity of the column.
2. Shear capacity is carried out for 1.2 times the shear capacity of the sections.
3. The plate and stiffeners designed for the bending due to tension and bending due to compression.
4. No axial load is considered in the analysis, since the base plate is design for 1.2 times plastic moment capacity of column.
5. Tension is taken by the anchor bolts alone
6. Shear force is resisted by the shear key
161 OF 201
7. Uniform base pressure is assumed under base plate for bending compression to check the bearing pressure.
