Welcome to our Physical Science class! I am looking forward to a productive year with many new experiences for
all of us as we navigate new ways of learning and managing schedules. Please know I am here to support and assist
you. Do not hesitate to email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Physical Science an introduction to the principles of physics and chemistry and builds the foundation for success in
science for the years to come. We investigate physical science concepts through an inquiry-based approach.
Embedded standards for Inquiry, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are taught in the context of the
content standards for Energy, Matter, Motion, and Forces. Topics covered include: Matter, Atoms, Periodic table,
Chemical Bonds, Chemical Reactions, Water, Acids and Bases, Electricity, Motion, Forces, Energy, Simple
Machines, Mechanical Waves, and Electromagnetic Waves.
Supplies:
This year our class will be paperless. Any papers that are passed out will not have to be returned. Hopefully, this
will cut down on germs and sharing of materials among peers. It will also help with the transition between remote,
virtual and traditional class.
Students will need their school COMPUTER and CHARGER in class EVERYDAY.
Students will need headphones/earbuds for educational use ONLY.
Students are required to wear a MASK during the school day.
Class Expectations:
Be on time and prepared to begin when class starts
Be appropriate at all times
Be on task, if you are confused, please ask
No eating or drinking in class, except water
Laptops are to be used for educational purposes only

Disciplinary Procedures:
Students are expected to follow the classroom rules and expectations as well as the Rossview High School and
CMCSS Student Code of Conduct at all times. Students do not have the right to disrupt the learning environment
for others.

Absence Policy:
Students are responsible for any work missed because of an absence. You may get a copy of the notes from google
classroom or another student. If you miss a test day, you must take the test the next day you return to class. You
will have one day to make up any missed work for every day you missed school.
Late Work:
No late work will be accepted after the unit test has been taken. Each week the assignment is late, the highest
possible points that can be earned on that assignment is reduced by letter grade. (Example: if the assignment is one
week late, the highest grade a student could receive is a 91%)

Monday - Wednesday – Friday Tuesday - Thursday
1st Period: 7:30-8:55 2nd Period: 7:30-9:35

Enrichment 10:20-10:55 6th period: 12:20-2:25
