Activity 1: Error correction in paragraphs

Below are paragraphs with obvious errors. Make necessary corrections or changes to
make the group of words grammatically acceptable. If the sentence of a paragraph has
no error, write NE. You don’t have to copy the paragraphs. All you have to do is to pick
out the word that makes each sentence incorrect. Corrections must be written beside
the words.

Modern Day Technology

1.) The society has been dramatically change with the evolution of technology.
2.) Before the advent of modern day technology, life was burdensome and everyday
chores consumed too much of our time.

being use imprudently these days resulting in affecting the society negatively and
complicating our lives.
9.) Relationship with family members are being weakened due to excessive
involvement with various devices.
10.) Although in a few cases, parents resort to technology to communicate with their
children and know about their whereabouts but this is not adequate always.
11.) Technology have made access to education easier but it is also resulting in
weakening the memories of people.
12.) Usage of text language often is having dire consequences on students.
13.) They fail to spell words correctly or write fully grammatically correct sentences.
14.) Modern technology also poses serious health problems.
15.) People are sleep deprived nowadays since taking their eyes off their phone or
laptop screens become a near to impossible task.
16.) This leads to problems in vision, cancer, obesity etc.
17.) We have became lazier.
18.) We prefer to sitting, playing games or listen to music instead of walking or going
outdoor or performing any work which require physical activity.
19.) Modes of transportation has increased the ease of access but has also increased
the amount of pollution.
20.) Due to technology, a broad range of options have become accessible to people.
21.) Technology has also benefitted people with special needs by providing them with
hearing aids, text readers, special chairs etc.
22.) Now they too can enjoy daily life without having to think about their disabilities.
23.) As a conclusion, there are several positive impact of technology on our lives but
there are several downside too. We cannot abandon technology now but we can ensure
not to let it control us.

Technological Innovations paved the way for Philippines to step up

its game as far as being more advanced and more feasible to change is
concerned. Through this pandemic which the world is experiencing right now, we
are able to force our system to adapt to technological innovations and reap from
the benefits of technology as days go by. Institutions like universities and offices
are now taking advantage of technology by allowing their students and
employees to work and school from home; monthly dues and bills are being
collected cashless and with less contact; people are being admitted to malls
without having to sign pieces of papers as health declarations, rather we scan
QR codes and the like and fill it up on our phones. These are just the basic
examples as to how technological innovations have greatly benefited the public
for its safety in order to survive in this season of pandemic.

• Korean Novela

Korean novelas have that unique capacity to hook their viewers

episode after episode despite the fact that it’s literally using a whole foreign
language from what we use here in the Philippines. The creativity of those behind
the production of Korean novelas have greatly benefited the Filipinos who are
inherently into “teleseryes” and the like. They are not only good at cute romantic
series which almost every female Filipino teenager likes; but they are also
exceedingly good at producing films that would completely hold viewers to their
seats as the movies are exhilarating. Examples of which are Kingdom and Train
to Busan. Korean Novelas have already been a part of Filipino movie industry, I
think it is safe to say that no filipino have not watched a single Korean movie.
Hence, it would be of great upscale for our media industry to follow the quality of
work and media production of Korean movies.
