LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to listen and identify at least 2 true or false descriptions correctly.

C At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to describe at least 2 animals using suitable words correctly.

1. Display animals flashcards on the board.


2. Give pupils a minute to look at the flashcards.
I. PRE-LESSON
3. Pupils close their eyes and take one or two flashcards away.
4. Pupils say which animals are missing.
1. Ask pupils whether they know the meaning of these adjectives. (big, small, old, beautiful)
2. Use flashcards to support the meaning.
3. Distribute worksheets.
4. Give pupils time to choose, cut and paste 3 pictures to the grid.
5. Then, ask them to tick (/) 3 boxes secretly. (e.g. a small frog, an old elephant, a beautiful cat)
6. Remind pupils to cover their pictures.
7. Explain that pupils have to guess a classmate‘s 3 descriptions by saying them.
II. LESSON
DEVELOPMENT 8. Demonstrate with 2 pupils how to play the game.
 Pupil A says, e.g. A big spider, and marks this square in their grid to signal that they have
used this choice. Pupil B says yes or no, depending on whether the guess matches one of
the 3 ticks in their grid.
 Pupil B now guesses in the same way as Pupil A.
9. Divide pupils into pairs or small groups and ask them to play the game.
10. Fast finishers can add extra ticks and continue.
11. Stop when most, but not all pupils have finished.

2. Write a sentence to describe each picture card. (e.g. This is a big spider. This is an old cat)
III. POST LESSON
3. Ask pupils to identify the errors and to correct them.
4. Elicit answers with the whole class.
