LESSON 3: ASSESSING THE LR MATERIALS

Activity 1: 7. Two (2) Accomplished LR Rapid Assessment Tools with Reflections

Study the LR Rapid Assessment Tool. Download an LR from either DepEd
Commons or LRMDS Portal and assess the material using the tool. Answer the
following questions in your Study Notebook:

Reflection Questions:
1. Was the material able to meet all the requirements?
Answer: Yes because the material is based on MELC and appropriate to the
level of grade 8 learners.

2. Were there any questions in the assessment tool where you answered “No” or
“Cannot Be Determined”? What decision will you make on the LR material? Why?
 Answer: None. I will only use the LR materials as supplementary material to my
class because the division office already prepared the Self Leaning Materials. This will
also be helpful for students who are lagging behind.

3. Are there other aspects of the material not covered by the tool but still need to be
assessed? Specify which aspect/s.
Answer:None. Every aspect is met.

4. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your
lesson and your learners?
Answer: Since this exercise makes the teacher search for many other reliable
learning resources, it gives me a lot of options on what is best for my class and what is
not. This activity offers a lot of variety of choices for teachers to choose from for their
varied kind of learners. Also, having a lot of reference lessens the time of planning and
creating of appropriate materials for my class.
