Mega Global is committed to create product that uphold international food safety and quality
standards, as well as environmental safety. To ensure their commitment to quality, freshness and safety of
their products, they have implemented strict quality management system, and several high-standard
policies developed by their own company.
The process begins with the actual fishing of sardines through the fishing farm of Mega Global.
Using a sonar boat to look for a healthy fish population. Then, the team lowers the net around the school
of fish. Once the net is pulled back up the sea, the fishers uses a fish pump to load the sardines. The
caught sardines are preserved in zero-degree chilled sea water containers to keep them fresh and to avoid
contamination.
On arrival at the port and have been transported to the canning plant, the fishes are cleaned with
cold water and placed in the conveyor belt to remove scales. Factory workers then separate the fishes
according to its size. Then, the sorted fish go by another conveyor belt through a machine where the
heads and tails of the fish are cut off.
Simultaneously, the cans that will be used for the process are being sterilized to make sure it is
well sanitized. The fish are then put into the can using an automated technology, after the cans had been
filled it will pass on exhaust box for pre-cooking and these cans are de-watered after that. Next, the cans
go to the sauce filling tanks and then sealed. The sealed cans are then passed to a basket for another
sterilization after sterilization. The next step is putting the sealed cans at a very high heat to ensure that
the products are shelf stable.
After the cans are cooled, they are then labelled with batch codes to indicate production batches
and expiration dates. The cans are then packed and the sealed boxes then go into warehouses for shipping
and ready for delivery.
What I find impressive in the manufacturing process of the company is their state-of-the-art sonar
and fish finders that is bound to do the infamous 12-hour Catching-to-Canning process to ensure the
product’s superior quality and freshness. As well as the fish pump technology which allows the fish to be
preserved at a constant temperature to minimize the development of histamine.
Mega Global is already a massive company with really qualified and competent management that
could do work efficiently, it may be in local or international affairs. The only thing that I could add up in
this flourishing company is maintain good employee-employer relationship. A happy and well-
compensated employee gives a productive work environment. And a healthy working environment is
good for business.
