RECOMMENDATION
Anton Paar GmbH recommends to always install the latest software version on the instrument. The software is
available as a free download on the Anton Paar website. Keep the instrument up to date by regular updates. All
updated features assist you to work more easily, safely and convenient with your instrument.
Website: http://www.anton-paar.com
The new software version can be installed on every Multiwave 3000 and Synthos 3000 in the field.
Version v2.52
Improved Sensor Handling for Rotor 8S
This release of the Multiwave/Synthos 3000 software includes an improved sensor handling and is only relevant
for users of Rotor 8S.
Version v2.50
Bug-fix Frequency Detection Error
The error handling routine in case of bigger fluctuations of the power supply has been improved.
Version v2.02
Bug-fix Content of Review Menu
The displayed information in the "Sample Documentation" screen of the Review function of version v2.01 did not
correlate with the used method. Version v2.02 will now correctly display the entered data.
Version v2.01
Bug-fix "Internal Memory Failure" if installation is done with empty memory chip
Installation of v2.00 onto CPUs with completely erased memory (e.g. after replacement of the battery packs, pre-
installation at Anton Paar GmbH) had failed, displaying an "Internal Memory Failure".
An additional routine has been included into the source code to overcome this failure.
In order to provide a consistent and reliable experience across all supported operating system versions, it is
necessary to make major updates to some operating system installations and to limit the list of supported
operating system versions itself.
Based upon Microsoft's Support Lifecycle Policy and technical circumstances, the following software
requirements apply for new Anton Paar software products and tools:
These are the base requirements. For security reasons, Microsoft recommends keeping the operating system up
to date with the latest critical updates and Service Packs. Please refer to the Windows Update site.
IR Control Parameters
The IR Control Parameters have been made editable for further improvements of the IR control function.
You must not change any of these parameters without written permission of Anton Paar GmbH.
Acetone n-Hexane
Chloroform Methanol
Dichloromethane Tetrachloromethane
Ethanol Tetrahydrofuran
n-Heptane Toluene
Rotor 64MG5
No protection lid detection
16 positions
IR limit 200°C
Version v1.52
Bug-fix Epson Printer Support
The problem in printing graphics with old EPSON needle printers has been corrected.
Version v1.51
New Rotor Type – Rotor 48MF50
The rotor list has been extended and includes now the following additional rotor:
Please note, run-data will contain only the 16 IR values, from the middle circle of vessels.
Rotor16SOLV
The new Rotor16SOLV is not fully supported in software v1.51, i.e. only 8 of 16 vessels will be shown in the IR-
temperature diagram and run-data.
Version v1.40
IR Limit – MF100 changed to 160°C
The max. IR Limit of the MF100 vessel is reduced from 180°C to 160°C.
All stored and programmed methods will be updated automatically. This updated value is more accurate (heat
transmission between inside and outside of the vessel) and will improve the life time of the jackets especially if
Rotor 16MF100 is used without pT-Sensor.
Solvent Runs:
Due to a volatility of solvents even at low temperatures (compared to acids) the temperature limits for the
security cooling after a solvent application have been changed to the following fixed values (not influenced by
customer settings):
Tinside: 40°C
TIR: 40°C
The default setting for the security cooling is intensity "2" for reasons of noise reduction.
Pressure: +1 bar
Temperature: +5 °C
IR-Temperature: +5 °C
The temperature limit for the Toil/Tgas is 90°C and for Tmagn1/Tmagn2 it is 150°C.
The "Status Word: nnnnnnnn" is for special service cases only.
Minor Changes
Serial Port Setup (Text Compression)
The default parameter for "Text Compression" is now "high".
Version v1.27
Exhaust Unit Type EU2.0 fully supported:
The new exhaust unit ("EU2.0") needs a different fan-level adjustment than the old type. Therefore a new entry
in the service menu (Service => "Exhaust Unit Installation") has been created.
For optimal cooling efficiency, it is important to select the correct exhaust unit type. For maintenance purposes
you can check the runtime of each cooling unit. Refer to the instruction manual => software (B83IB01-A or
higher)
IR Sensor Calibration/Check:
To improve the accuracy of the IR temperature measurement, the new software includes an "IR Sensor
Calibration" function as well as an "IR Sensor Check" function.
This functions require an upgraded "Temperature Calibration Accessory (T/IR)” (Part No. 16486)
Caution: Running an IR sensor calibration/check without this special accessory will result in a misadjusted IR
measurement and may result in damage to the vessels and or rotor parts.
Before performing the calibration of the IR-sensor read the instruction manual => software (B83IB01-A or higher)
XQ 280°C 280°C
Method administration:
You can download the methods file to an external computer and upload it to any other Multiwave 3000.
Existing "Paar"-Methods will now be deleted prior to installing the new method file. Updated procedures will not
cause double entries anymore. User methods will remain on the instrument.
Version v1.26.1
Bug-fix position recognition with Rotor 8SOLV:
With the v1.26 on some instruments the position recognition failed when using a Rotor 8SOLV.
The v1.26.1 includes an improved firmware function to avoid this problem.
Version v1.26
Safety Module SOLV
The software automatically recognizes the installation of the safety module for solvent extraction applications
and includes the new rotor types. The software also supports the optional Solvent Sensor Accessory. This
creates a new menu: Service\Solvent Sensor Settings
New Rotors
The rotor list has been extended to include the following rotors:
Rotor type: Interior temperature limit: IR-temperature limit: interior pressure limit:
p-Sensor
The software supports the new Pressure Sensor Accessory, which measures the pressure in vessel 1 of the
16-position rotors. As soon as the sensor is installed, it is recognized and activated. To improve management of
the individual sensors, the „Sensor Menu“ was redesigned: Setup\Sensor:
p-Sensor
p/T-Sensor
T-Probe
IR-Sensor (Vessel Temp.)
Please note:
When the data have been compressed, it is no longer possible to view them with a text editor but conversion into
Excel (or other) file formats is not restricted.
Method Management
A memory optimization allows you to store up to 300 additional user methods. The method library is given a
version number so you can check the current status of the methods. Methods can also be faded out or
downloaded to a PC as an encrypted file.
r Pressure Rate Limitation The microwave power was reduced due to high pressure rates
R High Pressure Rate Alarm A pressure rate higher than 0,8bar/s was detected by the pressure
sensor and caused the microwave power to be switched off for at
least 3 sec
U User Break The user pressed the STOP key or opened the oven
S Power Supply Limitation The microwave power was reduced due to high current
consumption of the Multiwave 3000
Version v1.24.1
Rotor signal readout adjusted to Rotor 8XF/XQ:
The software now is able to work with both types of Rotor 8 (XQ80 and XF100).
Hint: You have to install software version v1.24.1 to work with Rotor 8XQ/XF
Version v1.24
Changed vessel temperature limits:
Security Cooling:
If any cooling phase is programmed shorter than the security cooling setting the system will automatically add
the needed time for proper cooling with the current fan level.
If no cooling phase (cooling phase means Power = 0W and Fan = stage 2 or higher) is programmed the system
will add a security cooling based on the current security cooling setting.
With activated sensors the security cooling will stop automatically when following limits are reached:
Interior temperature lower than 60°C AND exterior (IR) temperature lower than 50°C
(If the limits are not reached after the costumer programmed cooling phase the system will add the security
cooling automatically)
