Executive Summary

A turnover-like pastry, common in South American and many Spanish kitchens, which is
filled with sweet or savory ingredients. Formed from a piece of dough made into a round shape
and flattened, the Empanada is filled, folded over into a half round shape and crimp-closed on
the open sides before being baked.

Mooncrust’s Empanaditas is a stuffed pastry crescent chessy dough that serves as a


healthy snack that fills in to your cravings in every bite. Made into an appetizer size version of
an empanada, it is a go to snack for everyone who wants to eat a crispy treat and enjoy its
delightful taste anytime and anywhere. Unlike any other empanaditas in town, Mooncrust’s
Empanaditas is served with different add-ons so everyone can get hook into the unique way of
eating empanaditas that comes in a cheaper price. The group is offering the product to all the
residents across 422 Alabang-Zapote Road, Talon, Las Pinas City. The group thought of
promoting this kind of empanaditas in this place since it is not fully recognized to its potential
and hopefully makes wave across the country and gained popularity as a go to snack for
everyone.

Mooncrust’s Empanaditas will just be as fine as it will still relive the taste of classic
empanaditas but will surely add a bit flare so the taste of every bite will be satisfying to savor.
The empanaditas will also be riched in nutrients as it is packed with Vitamin A, Iron and Protein
that will also add up to our energy to go for each day. This just proves how empanaditas can
turn every bite into a healthy treat.

The group chose Las Pinas City as the location for the Mooncrust’s Empanaditas shop
will cater to the residents of the nearby subdivisions and villages within Las Pinas City, where
middle and lower class families live, and also towns surrounding it.

Company Mission, Vision And Philosophy

Mooncrust will be owned by the following partners, Jennifer Marbibi, Veronica Medalla,
Aleja Ronquillo, Twinkle Perez, and Andrei Uyao, who are Grade 12 ICT students of Dr. Filemon
C. Aguilar Information Technology Training Institute.

Provide the most wholesome, most fulfilling and the cheapest snacks paired with the

Company History and Organization

The Mooncrust stand was planned in the December of 2018 with the purpose of
creating a good partnership that has determination to work successfully.

The Mooncrust Empanadita Stand was planned with the intention of making a
partnership that once the business is found achievable and has potential to takeover. This

collaboration would work together to build and improve the strong relationship in creating the
business.

The initial line-up of business partners will be the ones to handle and form the said
business since they have their share of knowledge on the latter. These people will do the best
that they can to keep the business alive and profitable and would keep in mind not only their
own satisfactions but also for the satisfaction of all their buyers.

III. Marketing Situation Analysis

Product/Service Strategy

Mooncrust’s empanaditas offers a healthy snack that is always on the go, freshly-served
in an attractive packaging design inspired by traditional Chinese food takeout. The customer
will have a choice of different dips and add-ons that they can carry anywhere. In this manner,
the customer will be satisfied to our servings having the unique way of selling empanaditas
away from the traditional one.

Pricing Strategy

In the survey conducted, it was found out that the potential customers are willing to buy
empanaditas at P17.00 (3 pieces for small size), P39.00 (7 pieces for medium), P55.00 (10 pieces
for large size) and they will have additional P5.00 to avail the add-ons (ham and cheese). The
researchers averaged this price range and obtained P6.00 per piece of empanaditas.

Promotion Strategy

Mooncrust’s empanaditas will be using various strategies as a way of promoting the


business. Before formally starting with the operations, leaflets along with the communication

through word of mouth to influence target customers around the area to buy empanaditas
since the product is relatively new to the industry. This will also allow potential customers to be
familiarized and get interested to the unique way of eating empanaditas.

Aside from this, Mooncrust’s empanaditas will also open business accounts on famous
online networking sites like facebook, twitter and instagram that could also attract potential
customers since most of the people nowadays are technically engaged. So it is also easier and
convenient for us to use internet. Giving out free tastes will also be done as a way to also
promote the product.

Another promotion that Mooncrust Empanadita could purse is to introduce a “Happy


Hour” starting from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM every Friday, wherein a secret special dipping sauce
will be added to the menu. Also, during these hours, Mooncrust Empanadita could offer a “25%
off” strategy for each order of Empanaditas. Aside from the value it could give to the
customers, this strategy will also benefit the business for it could take away the possibility of
having the product become spoiled, thus maintaining the standards of the business with
regards to freshness.

For the succeeding years, the projected cost of the promotional materials is based on
the inflation rate of 2%. There will be no quantity increase for the materials since these
quantities are already enough to cover the needs of the business in regards to the promotion.

Distribution (or Place) Strategy

Mooncrust Empanaditas will be established at 422 Alabang-Zapote Road, Talon, Las


Pinas City. It is surrounded by A, B, C, D, E types of markets. Banks and different local
supermarkets are surrounding the chosen location for the Mooncrust Empanaditas stand. The
Las Pinas East National High School, Talon Elementary School, and the residential area are also
some of the largest potential market of the Mooncrust Empanaditas. The stand will be open
from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from Monday to Saturday.

The suppliers for the Mooncrust Empanaditas will not be too far from the location since
the things needed for the stall can be bought through the supermarkets and malls within Las
Pinas City. Furthermore, Mooncrust Empanaditas will hold strong ties with its suppliers by
taking part in a Memorandum of Agreement so as to avoid any misunderstanding or problems
that may arise. The complementary products will be hedged from reputable bakeshops not far
from the stall to minimize cost of transportation for the product.

IV. Management Analysis


A. Type of Business

BUSINESS STRUCTURE

Mooncrust ‘s Empanadita will be owned by a partnership composed of five (5) namely;


Jennifer Marbibi, Elida Veronica Medalla, Twinkle Perez, Aleja Ronquillo and Andrei Mikael
Uyao. The proposed business will be established at 422 Alabang-Zapote Road, Talon, Las Piñas
City, Metro Manila.

On establishing the business, each of the five (5) partners will give equal percentage of
capital from their personal savings, having a total of Php1,800.00. They will be getting the
following percentage of profit share: Jennifer Marbibi (20%), Elida Veronica Medalla (20%),
Twinkle Perez (20%), Aleja Ronquillo (20%) and Andrei Mikael Uyao (20%). The partners will
also be the one to perform daily business activities. Each employee/partners has a specific
function that will help in the successful and smooth run of the business and will provide an
avenue for each employee to be treated with utmost respect and parity.

V. Production/Operation Analysis
A. Line of Products

Merienda is one of many Filipino eating habits, between after eating lunch and before
having dinner. At this time Filipinos usually eat the usual, bread, coffee, street food, or maybe
some ice cream. So, why not spice it up with and empanadita that is just as filling but is way
more healthy and tasty than regular old merienda snacks. (Table 4-1 shows the nutritional facts
of empanaditas. For these reasons, the researchers thought of promoting this product
commercially as a healthier and extraordinary way to spend their usual merienda.

The Mooncrust’s Empanadita stand will be established in the City of Las Piñas. It will
offer the said empanadita with various dips paired with it to suit the individual taste of each
person. Mooncrust will also use paper for their lovely packaging in order to promote conserving
the environment through limiting plastic usage. The shop serves empanadita with dips that vary
from, chocolate, honey, four seasons, cream cheese, and a special dip served during a certain
hour, and water as refreshments.

B. Machineries and Equipment

Machineries and equipment are important when it comes to the success of any business
establishment. Therefore, it is important that Mooncrust purchase brand new machineries and
equipments so that they’ll be able to avoid breakdowns and malfunction that may end up
slowing down the operations. Additionally, its rest assured that the business will use high
quality machines in order to guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.

The materials and supplies which will be used in the Mooncrust’s Empanaditas stand are
the following: Stove, Measuring Utensils, Cooking utensils, Bowls.

C. Localion and Work System

Mooncrust’s Empanaditas will occupy 6 square-meter space at the corner of Alabang-


Zapote Road, Talon Village. The space will be enough for working area that will allow for an
efficient flow of operation for the business to reach its effective capacity for the day.

B. Capitalization
The initial capital of Mooncrust’s Empanaditas is Php 2,510.00. There will be five
members. Each of the members will share Php502.00.
