Assignment
Introduction to Vernier
Technology
Learn how to connect a sensor, zero a sensor, and collect a sensor measurement.
This laboratory will provide you an appreciation of the laboratory component of biomechanics
(PEP 4200). You will also be given the opportunity to learn about sensors, which are commonly
used in biomechanics for measuring various aspects of human movement and what causes it.
Finally, you will be given the opportunity to learn a new software program that will provide
great insight into abstract concepts that may be common in biomechanics. Remember, one of the
major goals of the laboratory experience in biomechanics (PEP 4200) is to provide a hands-on
experience that allows you to better learn new information with sensory systems and not just
cognitive systems. Have a good time!

B. Connect a sensor, zero the sensor, collect a measurement with the sensor, and use the statistics
function to compute a mean and peak value. In the space below please describe which sensor
was used and what the circumstances were for computing the peak value.
