Principle 1. There is a progression of treatment through outlined phases.

 In the therapeutic community there is a progression of treatment base on the

phases or the stages that the residents in TC is changing like their behavior
or their attitude that they are changing for a better person like in the stage
one they must met before a resident can be qualified to the next treatment
program or the treatment phase. In the next stage the if the resident think that
he is changing that is adopting the treatment of therapeutic community then
he/she may request for the next treatment phase the staff members will be
the one who will decide to advance if the resident is qualified. The
progression on the residents we can see is that their records so that this is
the bases to the assessment of the residents if there is improving to him/her
like his behaviors and attitudes, he is responding or cooperating to the
community and he/she adopted the rules and regulations in the therapeutic
community.

Principle 2. There is a process for joining the community that explores treatment
motivation and promotes belongingness.

 Like the previous lessons that I learned that the therapeutic community has
the rules and regulations to be follow by the residents so that it will be
maintain the physical or psychological safety of community and it must not
violate the rules and regulations because it is the major rules that is
recovering process of the residents for them to be grow more personally.
Whereby the residents will become productive and to have a new skill to be
adopted and to realize a positive behaviors or attitudes that they will motivate
also their residents by communicating or helping each other to learn from
their mistakes. In the therapeutic community it also reinforces the sense of
the community and to make as their home like the residents must check that
their surroundings is neat and clean always so that it is attractive.

Principle 3. There is an orientation process that educates, engages, and facilitates

the integration of new residents into the community.

 In the process of the therapeutic community there is an orientation like the

rules and regulations so that the residents especially in the new residents that
they must know how is process of the therapeutic community so that they will
know and they will adopt it so that they will be foster and changing and to
reinforce for a better person. They have learning in their assigned work to
develop a new skill. And to give advice also or give feedback to each other in
communicating and sharing knowledge of what they know more or their
experience to assist other residents. Also the activities in the therapeutic
community that can help them for personal growth to change their routines in
their daily life that there time will be productive to achieve goals and to reduce
the anxiety.

Principle 4. There is a process for separating from the community.

 The therapeutic community must separate from environment that affects their
behavior and they must Avoid it so that they will maintain changing for a
better person or their new behavior and attitudes that they adopt in the
community because it is a long term process or a step by step from the
residents so that they will be reinforce. In the community there is no vices so
that it will not influence the community and the rules and regulations must be
strictly followed for the benefits of the treatment of the community. They must
be in the environment that will benefit them to change or to heal and the
positive role model like in the therapeutic community that the staff members is
the positive role model in the community. Not in the environment that affects
their behaviors and attitudes.

Principle 5. Community members are organized into a social hierarchy with a

structure of responsibilities.

 The community members have the responsibility to help each other to change
for a better person because the goal of therapeutic community will be
successful to change the person from their past. Every members in the
community must be a role model so that they will learn from each other to be
a positive in life and to encourage social learning especially in the staff
members because they are the examples in serving as role model to
motivate the community because they are supporting and helping the
community to change. The community members must cooperate in the
community that they work together so that they will learn also and give their
feedback for the benefits of them to promote recovery and right living.
