lip JOINT ADMISSION COUNSELING Ce se (JAC) 2020 Delhi Technological Univer: a ADMISSION COUNSELING Ay Hat Joint Admission Counseling JAC) for admission to Undergraduate Programmes in premier Delhi Government funded universities, offering Engineering, Architecture and Management programmes started in the year 2014, as an initiative of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, to avoid multiple admission counselings and save the candidates and their guardian from the resulting inconvenience because of shifting of students from one institution to the other during the admission process. At present, Delhi Technological University {OTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IlITD) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) participate in JAC which is conducted online with the support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The admissions are done on the basis of rank of students in Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This year, 5448 seats in Engineering and 40 seats in Architecture offered by the four participating institutions are to be allotted through JAC Delhi counseling. Because of the prevailing situation in the country, there has been a change in the counseling procedure and schedule of the counseling. In case of further unavoidable amendments in the counseling procedure and schedule, the same will be made available on the JAC Delhi website wwwiacdelhi. nic.in. In view of this candidates and their parents/guardians are advised to regularly visit the JAC Delhi website. This year, Delhi Technological University is the coordinating institution for JAC. PROGRAMMES OFFERED The university offers 14 Undergraduate engineering programmes, 23 Postgraduate engineering programmes, 5 MBA programmes and 3 MSc. programmes. Besides this, the university offers other 3 undergraduate programmes in the field of Design (B. Des), Management (BBA) and Economics (BA Hons). The university offers 20 Ph.D programmes inall areas of engineering, science, management, english and economics. The UG and PG programmes of DTU provide most modern curricula, based on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), having rich mix of courses from science, engineering, management, social sciences, humanities, fine arts, liberal arts, classical music, sports, etc. The course curricula have been developed with a view to integrate advancements in science and engineering, thereby incorporating industry relevant technologies. To offer further flexibility, there Is provision for credit transfer and earning credits through massive online courses (MOOCs) from different platforms such as NPTEL, SWAYAM, Coursera and Edx etc. The curriculum is regularly updated keeping in view the new technologies and changes in industries and society. Faculty and Research The university has a very talented pool of experienced, as well as young faculty members who are highly qualified in their area of specialization and have very good national and international exposure. To encourage the students and faculty for research and innovation, the university has provisions like funding for students’ innovative projects, financial assistance to students for attending internship overseas, research project grant to all faculty members etc. To celebrate the individual's excellence in research, the university offers research excellence awards to researchers in three categories of awards annually, Research Awards, Pr and Commendable Research Awards. The awards are open to all the researchers of DTU. In addition, university also recognizes excellence in teaching. The university has been granted with the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) project by MHRD. The project provides funds to faculty and students to organize and attend various faculty development programmes, seminars, and conferences. Ranking and Rewards The Institute is accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and has been accorded 12-B status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Many of its UG engineering programmes are also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Campus and Infrastructure DTU has 164 acres of a lush green, tech-savwy me campus, consisting of 16 academic departments, research centers, and residence for students, faculty, and staff. At present the university has more than 12,000 students in its undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph. D programmes. DTU has a EDUSAT studio utilized for recording of lectures, events, and talks, Besides the main campus, the university has another campus located in East Delhi, offering M. 8. A programmes, B. A (Hons.) Economics and B.B.A. programmes. Computer Centre DTU has a well-equipped computer centre to cater to the needs of students and faculty of the university. It is housed, in a magnificent state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG, PG students and research scholars. The centre possesses a number of servers and over 275 Dell intel core i5 computer systems. In addition, the centre has more than 15 servers hosting different applications such as websites & portals, SPSS, Mathematica, MatLab, DNS, LDAP, proxy, Email services, Network Monitoring System (NMS) etc. and 4 SUN CAD workstations meant for use by UG/PG/ PhD students for their projects and research work. The centre is fully networked through high-end intelligent Avaya & CISCO switches, and possesses round the clock 10 Gbps NKN leased line, ISDN and a 200 Mbps leased line in a different pipe for the LAN wired & Wi connectivity for the academic, administrative and hostel blocks of the campus, with internet facilities on all the nodes. It also has the latest versions of compilers, scientific, technical and engineering software and training kits etc. for the students of various programmes. Library and Knowledge Centre Delhi Technological University library building is a four storied, esthetically designed, centrally air-conditioned structure with a seating capacity of 400. DTU Library with a collection of more than 2,00,000 text and reference books and a large number of eJournals, e-books, manuscripts in digital format, is one of the highly rich engineering library in the country. DTU Library provides remote access facility to all its readers through cloud based remote access software. The library also helps researchers to maintain due integrity and ethics by providing the facility of similarity check to avoid instances of plagiarism. It has a very active presence on Facebook. Various current awareness services and user information literacy programmes are continually organized throughout the year. Outreach, Extension and Business Incubation Activities The university has established many centers like Center of Outreach & Extension Activities, Center of Human Resource Development (HRDC) and Equal Opportunity Cell, The center of outreach & extension activities organizes a variety of activities for promoting public awareness, especially for deprived sections of society including awareness programmes on engineering for class X/XI/XIl students. The HRDC center aims to upgrade and enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty at DTU. The university has also established the DTU Innovation and Incubation Foundation, pursuant to sub- section (2) of section 7 of the Companies Act, 2013 and rule 8 of the Companies (incorporation) Rules, 2014. The center offers incubation infrastructure, including space, computing resources, connectivity, common tools, and environment for co-working, collaboration, and innovation. Currently, 14 teams are working in the Centre. Sports and Other Outdoor Activities The students of DTU are facilitated by excellent sports complex for indoor and outdoor games. DTU has 4 x 400m racing track, fields for football & hockey. A cricket pitch and courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, along with facilities for indoor games. A well- equipped gymnasium is also available in the sports complex in addition to gymnasium facilities in each hostel. The university has engaged coaches in almost all the games to coach the students and nurture university teams. Students are encouraged to participate in various sporting events and tournaments held in, and around NCR of Delhi. From the academic year 2018-19, as per the revised curriculum, the university offers foundation elgts dents of first year and Hostels for Men, Women and Health Centre The University has 09 men and 06 Women hostels to accommodate 1289 male and 334 female students. Every hostel has its own common room and gymnasium. The hostels are connected via the campus-wide Wi-Fi as well as wired network, enabling the residents to browse the Intemet and access online ary resources for their academic and research-related tasks. DTU has a full-fledged health center where services of five medical practitioners and round the clock nursing facilities are available. Two new academic blocks and three hostel blocks are under construction which will cater to the academic infrastructure requirements for 3000 students. Further, the increase in hostel capacity will accommodate an additional 660 female students and 330 male students. The university has a health centre with OPC facilities in the area of medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry and physiotherapy. Events and Festivals The university organizes annual cultural, literary, sports and technical festivals. These festivals not only provide an opportunity to the students to connect with the professional world, but also an opportunity to display their creative and technical skills in several interesting events and activities organized during the fests. The ENGIFEST, one ofthe most popular student's cultural event of northem india, is the annual cultural extravaganza of the university and offers a good mix of literary, cultural, and entertainment events. The Invictus is annual technical festival of the university where all technical societies of the university host various technical events and competition. Fee Waiver and Scholarships The university provides fee waiver to students with lean financial background. There is a provision of up to 100 percent waiver of the tuition fee component of the total academic fees for those students who fulfill the laid down criteria. Inthe last academic year, the university granted tuition fee waivers amounting to Rs. 3.89 crores, Further, a merit scholarship of Rs. 10000/- is awarded to the respective topper of, all branches of B. Tech. programme. Also, the pre-final year B. Tech. students (toppers) of all the disciplines are eligible for scholarship of Rs, 10000/-, established by Oil and natural Gas Corporation limited. In addition to these number of other scholarships are on offer for meritorious students. University Student Programme (USIP) University has a provision for student's internships through the USIP in which the selected intems are assigned to various academic and administrative units. These student interns while assisting the various departments and units obtain hands on exposure to the working of the university. They are paid a stipend of Rs. 2500/-per month. CBCS based Curriculum Recently, University has adopted the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) based curriculum where student has freedom to study subjects from her choice. Curriculum includes subjects from Departmental Core Courses, Departmental Elective Courses, Allied Elective Courses and Generic Open Elective Courses. Students can also join MOOC courses from NPTEL and others. Students can choose the Project Track, Research Era Track based on her interest for minor and major project work. CHAPTER y Procedure of Online Registration 41 Online Registration and Counseling Fee Payment All candidates desirous of seeking admission to the engineering / architecture programmes at DTU, IGDTUW, IIIT-D and NSUT are required to visit website wwwjacdelhi.nic.in and fill online registration form, pay a non- refundable registration-cum-counseling fee of Rs.1500/- (plus transactions charges as applicable) and fill the choices. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION (Online Registration is allowed as per counseling schedule only) i The candidate —_will_ initially authenticate himself/herself by entering following details of JEE application + JEE (Main) 2020 application number + Name (as per JEE admit card) + Date of Birth (as per JEE application) If entered details match with JEE 2020 data, candidate will be asked to enter his/her email ID and mobile number. A verification code will be sent to candidate's mobile and email ID for Verification. After verification of email ID/mobile, candidate can create his/her yassword for JAC Delhi portal. JEE (Main)- 3/2020 application number will be the “User ID" for the candidate. Candidate shall ‘choose a suitably strong “Password” for subsequent logins to this counseling website. Also, he/she shall choose a security question which shall be used to retrieve the password in case he/she E| forgets his/her password. Candidates must ensure that Mobile Number and Email Address provided by them must be valid and should belong to the candidate or his/her immediate family members. These will be used by JAC Delhi for all future communications with the candidate. ji, It is in the interest of candidate to remember his/her Password and keep it highly confidential, to avoid misuse by other candidate, for which JAC shall not be held responsible, in any manner. ili. After successful authentication and verification of email ID/mobile, candidate needs to complete JAC Delhi application form in steps. lv. Candidate must ensure that the BANK ACCOUNT details filled by him/her at the time of registration must be valid and should BELONG TO THE CANDIDATE OR HIS/HER IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS. This bank account will be used to refund admission fee, if required by JAC Delhi. ¥. While filling of online application form, candidate will also enter details about claim of bonus point (for IIITD). On completion of application form, candidate needs to upload all relevant documents as per his/her category/sub-category. Medical certificate (format in section 7.2) can be submitted at the time of joining the university/institute. Candidates will be asked to upload following documents at the time of registration on JAC Delhi portal: Passport size color photograph. Marks sheet of the qualifying examination, ie. Class Xil or equivalent. Certificate of High School or equivalent examination (ie. Class X) as a proof of Date of Birth. Bonus point document(s), if eligible for IIITD bonus point. Reserved category / sub- category Certificates. For PD sub-category: i. A certificate of physical bility issued by the Competent Authority as per the provision of the Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 in the prescribed format as given under the Act. i, The Candidate ith benchmark disabilities shall produce the medical certificate issued by the Govt. Hospitals duly notified by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi/Other State government and further duly verified by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned — Government Hospital. A certificate, duly recommended by any of the Vocational Rehabilitation Centres for the handicapped, including Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for the handicapped, 9-11 Vikas Marg, Karkarduma, Delhi 110092, established by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. vi. Once application form is complete in all respect and all the required documents have been uploaded, candidate needs to confirm his/her registration form. The candidate will not be permitted to edit/change details filled in the registration form once the candidate confirms registration form. If candidate leaves the form incomplete, he/she can continue filling application form through JAC Delhi portal login. vi, Once the application form is completed and confirmed by the candidate, he/she will have to pay a non-refundable _registration- cum-counseling fee of Rs. 1500/. In case, the amount is debited from the candidate’s bank / card account but it does not reflect in candidate login or transaction is failed, the amount will be refunded to the same bank / card account automatically by the payment system within 7 working days. viii. If payment fails, the fee should be paid again for registration without waiting for the refund. The candidate may inform JAC Delhi by sending an email to payments,jacdelhi@ gmail.com providing the candidate's details (JEE Main Application Number, Name, Mobile Number, Date and Time of Transaction) ix. Candidates need to fill the choices for seat allotment, whichis discussed in next section. x. Candidate has to take the printout of the registration form signed by Guardian / Parents and Self, which has to be submitted at the time of admission/reporting in the institute. 4.2 Choice Please Note: i. After successful registration and fee payment, candidates are required to visit the website www.jacdelhi. nic.in again and fill choices for seat allotment. ji, After completing the application form successfully, if candidate does not pay the registration-cum- counseling fee of Rs. 1500/-, he/ she will not be considered for any seat allotment in any round of the counseling. iii, Registration fee can also be paid in cash by selecting “payment in cash/payment at SBI branch” during paymentmode selection on payment page opened while clicking on payment option. After selection this payment option, candidate must fill up the mobile number and email !D and then print a challan generated by payment system. Candidate must deposit the fee in cash using printed challan at any branch of SBI iv. No other mode of payment will be accepted for submission of registration-cum-counseling fee. Filling, New Registration in Subsequent Rounds and Change of Choices a. Online Choice Filling: i. Havingcompletedtheregistration process and paid the counseling fee, the candidate shall logit the website httpy/www.jacdelhi. nic.in using JEE main 2020 application number as login ID and a password created during registration process. ji. Choice filing option will be available in candidate login. As per the eligibility of the vi. vil viii, candidate, available seat information relating to University/ Institute and Programmes will be displayed. Candidate can select choices one by one from list of available choices and can add it to his/her preference of choices. Preference of choices can be rearranged by moving a filled choice up/down in the preference list. Candidate can also remove a filled choice from his/her preference list. Candidates can fill in as many numbers of choices in the order of preference as they wish to fill, from the list of available choices. The registered candidates are required to see the fee structures and branches of each university/ institute before filling the choices. It is in the interest of the candidate to fill maximum number of available choices so as to benefit from upgradation of seats, during any rounds of counseling. Only admitted candidates will benefit from seat upgradation prior to the spot round. Editing of choices are permitted during entire duration of registration window, including new registration allowed at the beginning of each round of counseling. Preference of choices will be locked automatically once registration period is over. Candidate need not lock the choices explicitly. Candidate has to take the printout of the filled choices once oma n is closed. Please Note: B. Arch. Candidates (icoTuW) Eligible Female Candidates seeking admission in B, Arch. Programme at IGDTUW must choose B. Arch. as one of the choices. Login to the Candidate's Account on JAC website After successful login, candidate's homepage is opened and following options are displayed: Registration Details: Registration Detail is important for seat allotment and should be filled very carefully. Edit Registration: Any mistake can be corrected in the above through “Edit Registration” option only if the candidate has not confirmed his/her registration. Bonus Points (for _IlITD): Candidates eligible for 1iITD bonus points should fill these details carefully and upload the documents claiming the bonus points for online verification. [Refer 51(b)] Fill Choices: As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to University/Institute and Programmes will be displayed. Candidate can select choices one by one from list of available choices and can add it to his/her preference of choices. Preference of choices can be rearranged by moving a filled choice up/down in the preference list. Candidate can also remove a choice from his/ her preference list. vi vil. vill. Display Filled Choices: Choices entered by the candidate will be displayed so that he/she can check the already entered information. Candidates are advised to fill maximum number of choices to increase his/ her probability of early seat allotment. Once admitted, his/ her seat may get upgraded during subsequent round of counseling depending upon the availability of vacant seats. Seat Allotment Letter: A seat allotment letter can be downloaded after declaration of seat allotment result of a round. This letter clearly indicates institute and category! subcategory of allotted seat. Admission Confirmation Status: If seat is allotted to the candidate, and admission fee is paid by the candidate, admission committee will verify the uploaded documents and confirm the admission. Status of confirmation of admission will be made available in candidate login. Links to Pay Various Fee: Admission fee payment, spot round fee payment, and balance fee payments links are made available to the candidates as per counseling schedule. Admission Letter: Once admission committee confirms the admission of the candidate, candidate can download his/ her provisional admission letter. % Choice Locking & Printing of Locked Choices i, Choices filled by candidates will be locked automatically for that particular round after the registration period is over. However, a candidate can change his/her choices during specified windows after every round as specified in the counseling schedule. Candidates have to take the print out of the filled choices only after closing of choice filing, New Registration: New registrations will be allowed after completion of each round (Round! to Round 4) strictly as specified in the counseling schedule. A candidate, who wants to register afresh for JAC Delhi 2020, must follow the instruction mentioned in Section 41 & 4.2 (mentioned above). A candidate registering in later rounds will not hold any right to claim the seats allotted to any other candidates, who had participated in earlier rounds. The allotment of a seat, to the newly registered candidate, will be done purely upon the Common Rank List (CRL) Rank and the availability of seats in subsequent rounds. Change of Preferences of Choices: The choices initially filled by the candidate during the registration remain valid throughout the counseling process unless altered/ changed by the candidate during the subsequent rounds. Note: JAC Delhi 2020 will not be held responsible for a candidate's lack of awareness of the schedule for change of preference of choices. 4.3 Allotment of Seat and Result Declaration 2. Allotment of seat (B. Tech.) and Dual Degree (B.Tech. + MBA): After completion of choice filling period, the so filled choices of all registered candidates will be processed for allotment of seats as per Common Rank List (CRL) Rank in Paper-| of JEE (Main) - 2020 for DTU, IGDTUW, NSUT and as per lIITD Rank for IlIT-D [merit criteria to arrive at IIITD rank is explained in Section 5.1(0)] b. Allotmentofseat(B.Arch.):Aiterthe choice filling period is over, besides other parameters, all candidates who registered for B. Arch. will be considered for allotment of seats as per All India merit rank in Paper-lI of JEE (Main) -2020 for IGDTUW. Note: For a candidate who is eligible for both B. Tech. and B. Arch. Programmes, allotment of seat to B. Tech. or B. Arch. will be purely based on the order of choices filled by the candidate. So, all eligible candidates should _ prioritize between B. Tech. and B. Arch. carefully, during choice filling. c. Result Declaration: Result of seat allotment in various rounds will be declared as per the Counseling Schedule. The selected candidate can view/print the provisional seat allotment letter after logging into his/her account on the website www.jacdelhi.nic.in, 4.4 Online Reporting a. Online Reporting and Admission Fee Payment: A candidate, who is allotted a seat in a particular round, in any of the participating Universities /Institutes, is required to Pay the initial amount of admission fee of Rs1,03,000/- (Rupees One Lac Three Thousand only) as per the specified schedule through ONLINE FEE PAYMENT GATEWAY of JAC Delhi 2020. If the candidate is allotted a seat in @ particular round and he/she does not pay/ fails to pay the required admission fee as per counseling schedule, his/her allotted seat shall be cancelled and he/she will not be considered for any seat allotment in subsequent rounds (except spot round). A candidate can initiate the admission fee payment process after logging into his/her account on JAC website wwwJacdelhinic.in. Fee Payment link will be made available in candidate login immediately after declaration of seat allotment results of a round. NOTE: Candidates should note that admission fee will not be accepted in the form of Demand Draft/Cheques/Cash under any circumstances. Candidates are required to pay the admission fee strictly as per the counseling schedule and keep one copy of fee receipt printout for their record. Admission committee will verify all uploaded documents and status of fee payments for all candidates who are allotted a seat in a particular round. If ()) all documents are found to be in order and (ii) fee payment is successful, the admission will be confirmed by the admission committee. Such candidates can view the status of document verification in their login and printout of the provisional admission letter. Once provisional admission letter is available in candidate login, admission process is complete for such candidates. If admission committee finds some deficiency/deficiencies in uploaded documents and the seat allotted is not confirmed by the admission committee, a deficiency will be created by admission committee and status will be available in candidate login. Such candidate can view the status of their admission in his/her login as per counseling schedule. Theycancontacthelpdesk.jacdelhi@ gmail.com or helplines of allotted institute for further clarification on deficiencies mentioned by the admission committee. The candidate may also report physically to allotted institute as per date and time mentioned in counseling schedule for any clarification on deficiencies. If candidate produces new/additional documents related to the deficiencies pointed out, and uploads the same on JAC Delhi portal as per specified schedule, the admission committee can confirm his/her admission if documents are found to be in order. In any case, if admission is not confirmed by admission committee due to some deficiencies in documents, candidate can be considered for seat allotment in subsequent round with changed credentials for available seats in subsequent rounds. (eg. if candidate belongs to OBC category, and his/her certificate is not valid as per JAC Delhi requirements, he/she can be made eligible for next round of counseling as GENERAL category candidate.. In case the candidate is notallotted any seat prior to the spot round (as specified in the counseling schedule), the admission fee paid by such candidates shall be refunded. e. Admission of a candidate is purely provisional and is subject to verification of original documents after the physical reporting of the candidate at the respective University / Institute. 4.5 Freezing of Seat and Institute/Seat Upgradation Ifthe currently allotted seat is not the first choice of a candidate, such candidates may be allotted a seat from the more preferred choices of the candidate during allotment process of subsequent rounds, a. Acandidate, who has been admitted in a branch/institute other than his/ her first choice, will automatically be upgraded (depending upon the availability of vacant seats), as per his/her merit in JEE (Main}-2020 or MTD merit (in case of admission in IIT-D), to a branch/institute of his/ her higher preference during seat allotment of subsequent rounds. b. Acandidate, who has already been admitted and gets upgraded in next round of counseling, should take printout of new seat allotment letter for their record. c. Freezing: In case, a candidate desires to continue in the branch allotted to him/her at the time of admission or during subsequent upgradation (ie. does not want himself/herself to be considered for upgradation to his/her higher preference branches in subsequent rounds of counseling), then he/she mustsubmitonlinefreezingrequest through JAC Delhi portal using their login. A branch will be ‘freezed’ only as per the schedule specified in the counseling schedule. BRANCH ONCE FREEZED CANNOT BE REVERTED AND WILL BE TREATED AS FINAL. Note: Only admitted and ‘non- freezed’ candidates will be considered for upgradation during subsequent round of counseling. All candidates, who have not been allotted any seat until pre- upgradation round but are willing to participate in the Spot Round of counseling, are required to refer to Section 5.6 for details. The detailed instructions about the online counseling shall be available on the website www.jacdelhi.nic. in, Candidates are advised to go through the details thoroughly at this site before registré Intimation to Candidates: A candidate will be intimated via SMS/ Email on their registered mobile number and email address in the following cases: i. When a candidate's registration is confirmed ji. When a seat is allotted to a candidate iii, When a candidate deposits admission fee iv. When admission is confirmed by the admission committee v. When deficiency is generated by the admission committee vi. When a candidate's seat is upgraded/retained during subsequent rounds vil. When a candidate freezes a seat. vil, When a candidate withdraws a seat. ix. When a candidate's SPOT round fee is deposited x. When a candidate is allotted a seat in SPOT round. So, it is in the interest of the candidates to follow the counseling schedule and check their status by login into their accounts regularly. NOTE: Candidates are advised to visit JAC DELHI website (www. jacdelhi.nic.in) regularly for details. + A candidate who is offered a seat under reserved category J sub-category in any round of seat allotment and fails to produce appropriate document in support, his/her allotted seat will be cancelled and he / she shall be considered for allotment in GENERAL category in subsequent rounds, subject to eligiblity and availabilty of vacant seats. + It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to prove his J her eligibility for claiming reservation under any of the reserved categories. The candidates under SC/ST/OBC/ EWS categories and CW/PD/ SG/KM/TP subcategories will be required to upload the certificate(s) of the respective reserved category/subcategory issued by the competent authority (as listed in Section 3.3) at the time of registration. If the certificate for reserved category candidate is not found to be in order, no benefit of the reservation will be given and the candidate shall be considered forallotmentin GENERAL category in subsequent rounds, as per the eligibility of the candidate and availability of seats. If such candidate is able to produce his/her category certificates in further rounds, he/she will be considered for that category and will be allotted a fresh seat as per his/her merit and the vacancies available in that and subsequent rounds only. CHAPTE: / Online Counseling Procedure 51 Seat Allotment - General Rules During this step, the choices submitted by ith Bonus points, if any, as defined in Annexure A (Maximum upto 2 points) IITD merit list will be based on the candidates will be processed centrally and seats will be allotted in the order of merit as explained below on the basis of the locked choices. The allotment result will be made available on the website www. Jacdelhi.nic.in. a. NSUT, DTU and IGDTUW i. The provisional seat allotment will be based solely on the All India Rank Common Rank List (CRL) of the candidate in the JEE (Main) 2020 examination as given by NTA. jl, For B. Tech. Programmes and Dual Degree Programmes, All India Common Rank List (CRL) Rank in Paper-l of JEE (Main) 2020 will be considered. lil, For B. Arch. Programme at IGDTUW, All India Common Rank List (CRL) Rank in Paper- Wl of JEE (Main) 2020 will be considered, iv. Otherthanthe abovementioned merit rank, seat allotment will be done by considering all the details provided by the candidate in his/her ONLINE application like category, region, minimum qualification eligibility criterion, choices filled etc, IIT Delhi A separate merit list as described below, will be used for seat allotment in ITD. Final percentile score obtained in paper-1 of JEE Mains 2020. the total of the above two. iv. In case of a tie, candidate with a higher rank in JEE 2020 shall rank higher. Note: All participants of JAC Delhi 2020 counseling are intimated that admissions to various 8. Tech. Programmes at IIIT Delhi will be made as per IIIT Delhi ranking. The mechanism of arriving at IlITD ranking is defined above in conjunction with Chapter 8 about eligibility for Bonus Points. All Interested candidates are hereby advised to read it carefully and avail the benefits of Bonus Points as applicable individually. Any candidate who may have missed proper filling of bonus point claims during registration process can avall the benefits of bonus points by producing the relevant documents during document verification schedule prior to seat allotment announcement for the subsequent Found, failing which hisiher claim for bonus points will remain forfeited, 5.2 First Round of Counseling a. The choices filled by the candidates during ONLINE registration will be processed centrally and the institute-wise cutoffs along with the seat allotment result will be made available on the JAC Delhi website. As the choices filled by the candidates can be changed at the beginning of e very round (if not freezed), hence the candidates are requested to fill/change their choices carefully. Alll candidates who are provisionally allotted a seat in any round of counseling are required to pay the admission fee of Rs. 103,000/- using a fee payment link available in their login. Admission committee will verify the documents and check status of admission fee payment as per schedule mentioned for each round. If all the uploaded documents are as per requirement and the admission fee has been paid by the candidate, his/her admission will be confirmed by admission committee and status will be made available to the candidate. Such candidates can download the provisional admission letter from JAC Delhi website Such candidates can freeze their allotted branch if they do not want any upgradation of branch/ institute as per their filled choices. Freezing of branch can be done ‘only after admission is confirmed by the admission committee and prior to a date and time specified in the counseling schedule for each round. It must be noted that once a branch is freezed by the candidate using the “Brach Freezing Option”, the candidate will not be allowed to change his/her filled choices in any of the subsequent round(s) of counseling. In case, any deficiency/deficiencies is found in the uploaded documents, or the academic fee not being paid, the admission of candidate will be cancelled after the completion of that round. Information about the deficiencies will be made available to the candidate on or before the specified date and time during each round of admission. If candidate can clear the deficiencies before the end of that round, his/her admission will be confirmed. To clear the deficiency, candidate can upload new documents/additional documents/pay the academic fee as asked by admission committee or he/she can visit the institute where seat is allotted before end of around. For candidates, whose admissions are not confirmed due to some deficiencies, seat allotted to the candidate will be cancelled. Such candidates may be considered in next round of counseling with changed credentials (e.g. if OBC certificate is not valid, category may be changed from OBC to GENERAL). Incase, the admission of a candidate who has paid the academic fee of Rs. 1,03,000/- is not confirmed because of some deficiencies/ inconsistencies in their documents, the academic fee paid by them will be refunded within 10 days after last date of withdrawal (refer counseling schedule). Candidates need not report physically to the allotted University/ Institute for document verification. Failing to pay the admission fee against allotted seat, his/her allotted seat will stand automatically cancelled and the candidate will not be considered for subsequent ONLINE rounds of seat allotment. However, such candidates are eligible for spot round counseling provided they pay spot round participation fee. Freezing: In case, a candidate desires to continue in the branch allotted to him/her at the time of admission or during subsequent upgradation (je. does not want himself/herself to be considered for upgradation to his/her higher preference branches in subsequent rounds of counseling), then he/ she must submit online freezing Fequest through JAC Delhi portal using their login, Branch freezing requests can be submitted only after the admission is confirmed by the admission committee till last date mentioned in counseling schedule of each round. BRANCH ONCE FREEZED CANNOT BE REVERTED AND WILL BE TREATED AS FINAL. Based on the number of candidates completing the document verification and paying the admission fee payment ‘successfully, the vacant seat available thereafter be used for seat allotment in second round of counseling. 5.3 Second Round of Counseling a Fresh candidates can also register in this round as per the counseling schedule, All admitted candidates who have not freezed their allotted branch in the previous round, shall be allowed to change their preference of choices. In order to change his/ her choices, a candidate MUST visit JAC Delhi website and change their preferences using the candidate login as per counseling schedule. The following types of candidates are eligible for seat allotment! upgradation: Type - I: All candidates who have registered afresh in second round and all registered candidates who were notallotted any seat in the first round of seat allotment. ji, Type-tt: All candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of counseling, paid prescribed admission fee as required, also got their documents verified successfully and didn't freeze their seat. iii, Type-tit: All candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of counseling, paid prescribed admission fee as required but their admissions were not confirmed by admission committee due to some deficiencies in their documents and admission committee permitted them to participate in next round of counseling with changed category/subcategory/ region. Candidates of Type — |, who is allotted a seat in this round will have to pay the admission fee (refer Chapter 6 for details) as per the counseling schedule {available on the website www. Jacdelhi.nic.in) falling which his/her allotted seat will stand automatically cancelled and the candidate will not be considered for subsequent ONLINE rounds of seat allotment. However, such candidates are eligible for Spot Round Counseling. Candidates of Type - II may either be allotted a seat of higher preference choice or their previously allotted seat will remain unchanged. They can, if they wish, freeze their allotted seat or wait for upgradation in subsequent round(s}. Candidates of Type-Iil will participate in second round of seat allotment with changed category/subcategory/ region, like Type-|. In case, they are allotted a fresh seat then they need not pay the admission fee as they have already paid it in first round. In case, a candidate, who has been admitted/upgraded in this round, 54 me, & °o 9° < 7 desires to continue in the seat allotted (ie. he/she does not want to be considered for upgradation to his/her higher preferences in subsequent rounds of counseling), then he/she must submit an online freezing request through JAC website using candidate's login on the day mentioned in counseling schedule (after confirmation of admission). Third and Fourth Round of Counseling Fresh registrations shall be allowed in the beginning of these rounds (For details of registration, refer Section 41 - 43). Remaining process will remain same as second round. Pre-upgradation Round (Fifth Round) of Counseling This round of counseling is scheduled to give final opportunity to all those candidates: i. Who have not registered online to register now. Who are already admitted and want to edit their filled choices, Who are registered but have not been allotted any seat because they have filled only limited number of choices, to fill maximum number of choices. If a seat is allotted to them during this round of counseling and their admission is confirmed, then only they will be considered for internal upgradation after completion of _ pre-upgradation round. iv. After completion of pre-upgradation round, an upgradation of all the admitted candidates will be done according to the rules mentioned in section 5.6. The resulting vacancies, if any, after internal upgradation will be filled in the spot round. 5.6 Upgradation of Admitted Candidates (after Pre- upgradation Round) a. Only those candidates who are already admitted and have not withdrawn their admission upto completion of the document verification stage of pre-upgradation round of counseling are eligible for upgradation. The candidates are advised to exercise all the possible choices across Universities/Institute while filling/editing the choices during round 1 to pre-upgradation round. This upgradation is made against the vacant seats after last date of withdrawal, up to which, admission fee is refunded after deduction of Rs. 1000/- only. The admission fee deposited by the admitted candidates if he/she withdraws after the last date of withdrawal, will be forfeited b. There will be upgradation for candidates involving all participating Universities/institutes by — taking the maximum rank of last round of counseling cut-off of JEE Main Rank (Paper 1) in each category & region for DTU & NSUT as base cut off ranks. c. After this upgradation (Point b), there will be intra-institute upgradation of all the admitted candidates of IGDTUW beyond the rank mentioned in ‘point b’ above. These candidates may participate in the SPOT Round only after due submission of their willingness at the Spot Round Venue. 57 Spot Round Note: Candidates who have freezed their choice till pre-upgradation round of counseling will not be considered for this upgradation. This upgradation process _ will not be applicable if the SPOT Round admissions are done online mode without any physical reporting at Spot Round venue. (subject to availability of seats) The SPOT ROUND of counseling will be conducted for the vacant seats, if any, available in DTU, IGDTUW, IIITD & NSUT after upgradation of admitted candidates (as described in 5.6), The following candidates are eligible for ‘SPOT Round: a. Any candidate who had not registered during previous round ‘of counseling. Such candidate will have to first register on JAC Delhi Portal. b. The candidates who have not taken admission in any programmes offered by any of the participating University / Institute including pre- upgradation round. c. The registered candidates who have not been offered any seat including pre-upgradation Round of online counseling d. Any candidate who has withdrawn his/her admission from any participating university/institute on or before the last date of withdrawal. e. The admitted candidates falling under Section 5.6 Clause c). f The registered candidates who were allotted seat in any of the online counselling rounds but did not report for admission. G g. The registered candidates who have not filled any choice during online registration process. h. The registered candidates who were allotted seat in some round of counseling, but the seat was cancelled due to some deficiency (or any other legitimate reason), Procedure for registration to participate in SPOT Round Theabove mentioned eligible candidates (except candidates falling under Section 5.5 Clause c) have to follow the steps given below, in order to participate in SPOT Round: i. Any candidate who had not registered during previous round of counseling are required to first register on JAC Delhi portal and upload all required documents and Pay registration fee of Rs. 1500/-. Submit online an undertaking / willingness for participation in SPOT Round through the link available on JAC Delhi website. ili, Pay SPOT Round Participation Fee of Rs10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only). The participation fee of Rs10,000/- is refundable/ adjustable. iv. Candidates are required to report at DTU as per the counseling schedule or updates available on the JAC Delhi website from timetotime. Candidates are advised to exercise carefully their choice before confirming the admission in the SPOT Round. v. Candidate has to submit a demand draf/pay order (in favor of “JAC DELHI" payable at Delhi) of Rs.93,000/- at the time of allotment ofa seat, failing which the admission will not be offered in the spot round. JAC -2020 No fee refund request will be entertained from the candidates admitted during the Spot Round if they withdraw their admission on any ground what so ever. Admission Process of SPOT Round Participating candidate needs to report in person (No authorized representative are allowed to participate) at the Spot Round venue as per spot round schedule and mark his/her attendance. All present candidates are called in order of their rank and available seats are displayed. Candidate can choose any available seat after producing application form printout and a Demand Draft of Rs.93,000/- drawn in favour of “JAC DELHI”. If the candidate does not accept any of the offered seats, then he/she may withdraw from the Spot round. In such cases, the spot round participation fee (Rs. 10,000/) deposited by the candidate will be refunded within 10 days after spot round is over, however there will be no refund for the registration fee of Rs.1500/-. Admitted candidates need to pay the balance fee at the final allotted University / Institute AS PER FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE available on respective _institute/university website, failing which, the admission of the candidate automatically stands cancelled ipso facto. Upgradation after Commencement of Session Some of the participating institutes/ universities will execute a final branch upgradation after commencement of session (during first/second semester), against vacant seats created by withdrawals/cancellation of admissions. This upgradation will be done by the participating institute individually and upgradations will be within particular institute/university. Following is procedure for final upgradation: the Students studying in institute can participate in this upgradation process. Interested candidates need to fill fresh choices for branch upgradations within allotted institute/university only. The currently allotted branch of those ‘students who are not interested to upgradation will remain unchanged. Choices filled earlier at the time of registration/admission rounds will be deleted from list of preferences. There will not be any change in Category/Sub-category and Region of the students under any circumstances, e. Upgradation will be based on JEE (Main) Common Rank List (CRL) Rank only. Performance of student in first semester/year will not be considered for upgradation. Options for re-filling the choices, once exercised, will not be changed later under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to fill current allotted branch at the bottom of the choices filled.
