Republic of the Philippines Region Vill, Eastern Visayas REGIONAL INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE ON EMERGING INFECTIOUS DISEASES (RIATF8) And REGIONAL TASK FORCE ON COVID-19 (RTF8) JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24 September 04, 2020 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PHILHEALTH TO EXTEND THE COVERAGE OF DIALYSIS SESSIONS BEYOND 90 DAYS AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC WHEREAS, on March 2020, Proclamation No. 922 was issued by President Rodrigo R. Duterte declaring a State of Public Health Emergency in recognition of COVID-19 public health event as a threat to national security; WHEREAS, on 16 March 2020, Prociamation No. 929 was issued deciaring a State of Calamity in the entire country for a period of six (6) months unless earlier lifted or extended; WHEREAS, PhilHealth issued Circular 22-2015 dated August 18, 2015 entitled New PhilHealth Dialysis Package to cover members and their dependents with end stage renal diseases who are undergoing renal replacement therapy both Peritoneal Dialysis and Hemodialysis; WHEREAS, on 2 September 2020, Eastern Visayas recorded a total of 3,160 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1,215 active cases; WHEREAS, based on DOH-EVCHD current data, there are 22 dialysis patients with COVID-19, while 11 dialysis patients died with chronic kidney disease aside from other comorbidities; WHEREAS, on 04 September 2020, during the joint RIAT and RTF meeting, RD Minerva P. Molon of DOH-EV presented the recommendations of the Health Cluster during its meeting last September 2, 2020; WHEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to pass a resolution requesting PhilHealth to extend the coverage of dialysis sessions beyond 90 days amid COVID-19 pandemic; RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished to PhilHealth for their information and appropriate action.
