Turn Course Goals

into Sections

When creating your course outline, the first step is to create goals for each section. To do this, use
your brainstorming around course goals (if you haven’t done this exercise, you should start with that).
Look at each of your course goals and decide if the size is appropriate for a section (is this a skill you
could teach in ~30 minutes?). For goals which are too broad, try and break them up into multiple
sections. For goals which are too small, think about which larger section this could fit under. At the
end of this exercise you should have sizeable sections and section goals for your course. Put them in
the order you would like to teach them in, and then add this to your course outline.
