I agree with your idea of extrinsic motivators and I personally also like the same idea.

I don't like
to give any physical rewards because I have other students feel disheartened. I being a
kindergarten children at that young age do not like see my students in tears and feel very bad.
But definitely, extrinsic rewards are appreciated and sets as a motivation to improve performance
in the classroom.
