Before you begin... www.etsy.com/shop/sleepysheeppatterns/
This doll is crocheted in the round from the feet to the head as one piece, the
arms are joined just as the legs are. Try to crochet tightly and keep the same gauge
throughout the doll. Luna is about 11” tall.
To create Luna, I used Paintbox Cotton DK yarn in Light Caramel (skin color),
Paper White (socks, underwear, shirt), Dusty Rose (shirt), Misty Grey (earflap
hat, outer ear), Washed Teal (hair), Lime Green (shorts), Tea Rose (slippers) and
Vanilla Cream (inner ears). For her fuzzy accents (slippers and earflap hat), I used
Bernat Pipsqueak yarn in Whitey White. To create Luna’s Stuffed Bunny, I used
Paintbox Cotton DK yarn in Daffodil Yellow and Misty Grey for her nose and eye
embroidery.
You are welcome to use any size/color yarn just adjust your hook accordingly and
read any notes or tips for help! If you use a larger yarn and hook size you may need
larger safety eyes as well.
How to do a clean F/O...
I use this for the arms and most color changes, if I don’t specify to use this type of
F/O just use a normal F/O. You don’t have to use this technique I just prefer to use
it so that there are not any bumps and it makes for a smoother color change.
Join where the original F/O was Slst into the ch 1 you made to
begin the round
This is what your foot Before finishing R40 on the 2nd leg, start to sc in the last st
should look like after R12 is but instead of pulling the skintone color through pull the white
completed yarn through to change colors and ch 2

I recommend using a permanent washable fabric glue (like Fabri-Tac or something similar) to
glue the hair down to the head. Make sure to crochet the hair very loosely and use a larger
hook than you did for the rest of the doll. If you want or need more coverage see the TIP in the
Top Layer under the Hair section.

Use 2.75mm hook and Washed Teal yarn

have 2 strands coming from it - see
pictures for example.

32. ch 34, sc into 2nd ch from hook, make 32 sc down, slst into beginning st and
F/O and weave in ends - you do not need a long tail for sewing since we will be
gluing the hair down

Top Layer
TIP: You will be joining and crocheting
from the inner part of the magic circle
that we made earlier from increasing in
the BLO (see pics), if you need or want
more top layer coverage you can do 2
strands in each st like the bottom layer
is done, but I only do one strand in
each st for the top layer. I did not want
to make her hair too “bulky” since she
wears pigtails and a hat but it is totally You will join here so that there are 4
up to you! bang pieces and 4 long pieces around
Hair Assembly
After you pin the bottom layer of the hair down unpin one strand at a time,
glue and repeat! Be sure to use a glue that is permanent and washable like Fabri-
Tac not tacky glue! You may have some overlap on the back of the hair which is
fine.
After the bottom layer has been glued down and dried, pin down the top layer
of the hair and then unpin one strand at a time, glue and repeat!
Once all the hair has been glued and dried, take 2 scraps of white yarn, divide
and tie Luna’s hair into pigtails evenly.

Your hair should look like this once you have finished gluing the hair to the
head and you have tied her hair into pigtails!
Blushes
This is completely optional but I like to use my prismacolor nupastel 286-P
for blush (I use a paintbrush to help smooth it out after I put it on), but you may use
blush, eye shadow, fabric marker, felt, or whatever you prefer to use for blush!

draw through 2 loops again (this will leave you with 3 loops on
your hook)
step 3. yarn over, insert hook into same st, yarn over and draw

Pin the ears to the hat above the earflap and sew them on.
This is what your hat should look like once the ears are sewn on! Now take the
Bernat Pipsqueak yarn in Whitey White (or other fuzzy yarn/yarn of choice) and
join anywhere. I used a 2.00mm hook and single crocheted around the hat
again. Once I reached the earflaps with the ch 20 strand, I chained 1, skipped
the strand and joined to the other side of the earflap with a sc (instead of single
crocheting down the strand) and continued to sc around the hat.
