Since 2013 MACAWI Medical Systems B.V. is part of the DEMCON

Group, a high-end technology provider of mechatronic products and
systems, with high-tech systems and medical devices as areas of
focus. Its head office is based in Enschede in the Netherlands with
branches in Eindhoven, Amsterdam, Oldenzaal and in the German
city Münster. DEMCON has own production and assembly facilities
in Enschede. In all project teams a mix of MACAWI and DEMCON
engineers are working closely together. Being part of the DEMCON
group gives MACAWI the opportunity to increase its engineering
capacity on short term and to serve the customer almost immediately.

At MACAWI high quality standards are used throughout the organization

which are satisfied using an extensive quality policy. A lean quality
management system enables MACAWI to reach the goal of satisfying
customers and keeping their trust and confidence.

MACAWI has been ISO13485:2003 and ISO9001:2008 certified within

the DEMCON Holding by Dekra.

OEM respiratory module

MACAWI’s OEM respiratory module is equipped with state-of-the-art

blower driven ventilator technology. It has:
• Very compact design,
• Low weight,
• Low energy consumption,
• Low noise level,
• Long lifetime.

This respiratory module offers complete functionality with a high

dynamic range for invasive and non-invasive ICU and sub-acute care
ventilator systems, from smallest neonates to adults. Driven by a high
dynamic internal blower the module is pre-eminently suitable for
portable ventilator systems, like transport or emergency ventilators.
The module offers clinically proven respiratory therapy methods and is
tested, completely verified and in production since summer 2014.
Based on the ventilator technology available in the OEM respiratory
module, MACAWI can develop other respiratory modules according to
customer specifications.
OEM blower module

MACAWI has developed and patented a revolutionary compact radial

blower with a high dynamic range. It is now available as OEM blower
for integration in your ventilator or anesthesia product.

The blower offers you a very low rotary inertia and a high dynamic
behavior, with speeds up to 90.000 rpm. A specially designed motor
and controller with dedicated control software results in an extremely
silent blower with high pressure efficiency, high flow capabilities and
astonishing low power consumption.

The special design results in a compact blower with low weight and
a very long lifetime. 

The blower has been developed for MACAWI’s own OEM respiratory
modules, but since September 2014 it is also commercially available
as OEM blower module.
 Customer specific systems

As a provider of technology, application knowledge and production

capacity MACAWI is the total solution supplier for existing players in
the market of medical ventilators. With a team having more than
35 years of experience in the field of medical ventilation system
development, MACAWI develops and manufactures specific respiratory
solutions based on customer specifications.

Examples are: Neonatal ventilator systems with excellent resuscitation,

nCPAP and support functionality,

High performance transportable ventilator systems with ICU

performance for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients,
Emergency and transport ventilator systems for most
demanding situations, compact and easy to use.

Besides this MACAWI can support you during your own ventilator
system development with consulting or contract engineering on:
• System requirements definition,
• System architecture,
• Software support,
• Prototype development,
• Verification.
