COURSE GUIDE
Scope:
This course is designed for students to understand how lives of all the components of the natural
world, the Earth, are interrelated. It allows them to identify the existing environmental problems,
understand their causes and assess the associated risks that come with it, which leads them to create and
apply preventive measures and alternative solutions, protect and utilize natural resources responsibly,
help control environmental pollutions, and improve environmental quality to enabling healthy
ecosystems and comfortable habitation of humans.
Course Outcomes:
After completing the course, the student must be able to:
1. Recognize and assess the present situation of the ecosystems and human society.
2. Distinguish and evaluate environmental risks and environmental problems.
3. Develop action plans to minimize/eliminate risks and environmental problems.
4. Select and apply appropriate methods of treatments and solutions for environmental problems
present in a specific area.
5. Develop students’ environmental ethics, literacy, and an appreciation for the environmental
impacts of their future careers.
6. Help improve the environmental quality for a healthy ecosystems and comfortable habitation for
the society and wildlife.

1. The students will be evaluated based on their performance on the activities given to them. Each
student should at least comply with subject requirements and passed the quizzes and major
examinations given within the duration of the semester.
2. The following grading system will be used for this subject are:
Mid-Term 50%
Final 50%
Total 100%
