Text 1.
The earth is getting hotter each day. The amount of nature disaster increased a lot. They’re actually the effect of
Global Warming. We got to find the problem solving immediately. Therefore, we think that RECYCLING is one of the most
effective way to reduce world’s temperature. We have several reasons that prove our opinion.
First, recycle is easy to do. We can recycle many useless stuffs around us. For example, unused plastic bottles
are able to be tricked as cute lampions. It’s very valuable since plastic are toughest material to be destroyed.
Second, recycle doesn’t spend much of money. If compared with planting lots of plants, it saved more cost.
Because we just need to change rubbish into more useful mean. Perhaps we can turn out a former milk can into a pretty
pencil case.
Thirdly, recycle can be done in home everywhere as long as you bring up all needed things for recycling. You
only required to be creative and flexible to make trashes as functional goods.
So that, recycling is absolutely an easy-doing way to save our world! Besides, we must be more caring to
environtment. Don’t litter, don’t use too much energy (electrical tools), don’t be overuse of papers, plastics, and tissues.
Be the world’s savior!

Dear Editor,
I’m very worried about the effect of TV, especially on our children. First, they are a lot of violent programs on TV
and on several occasions I have caught my sons copying the action they see in these programs. Second, the commercials
are very bad for them. Children see commercials for candies and toys, for example, and want to go out and buy them.
Also, sitting in front of TV set all day is bad for their eyes. All my children wear glasses. I am convinced it because
of the long hours they spend in front of the screen. Finally, watching TV is not creative. I think it is very important for
everybody to do some creative work, such as playing a musical instrument or painting. When I say this to my children,
they just do not answer. They are too busy watching TV. I have tried to restrict their viewing hours, but this has resulted
in a lot of unhappiness.
I have, therefore, decided to sell my TV set, as this seems to be the only solution.

 Let’s say that you could (combine)1, into one super brain, 100 of the best minds in the history of mankind. Would that
super-intelligent brain be able to fully appreciate all the wonders of the universe? Probably not. The universe is simply too
big, too wondrous, too fantastic for humans. (Imagine)2 an ant crawling all over an elephant. That ant (have)3 little or no
idea of what that elephant (be)4 all about. Nor do we humans (grasp)5 the magnitude of the wonders of our universe.

in the universe. It isn’t even a remarkable star; there are billions just like it. And billions more that are unlike it, in thousands
of different, fascinating ways!
How many stars are out there? Think of your favorite beach. How many grains of sand are on that beach? Now

live in the city, you may find it hard to sleep
at night, or concentrate on your homework,
and especially talk to someone.
