The City Image and Its Elements

The process of developing an image, depends on the planner and
inhabitants. Proper communication between them will make the result
more effective. During the development phase, we should not just focus
on knowing their primary needs but also, we need to know and
understand their perception regarding to their place. Sharing their
everyday experiences on that place would enlighten the designer on
how/where he/she should work on. These are some of the factors that the
city planners need to consider.
It would be also a great help in reshaping the city knowing the
basic elements in establishing a good image of a city. A great balance in
pairing would make the image more functionable and reliable,
overpowering the other elements might lead into confusions. The
visualization on how the city should be and how its elements will
compliment each other. The image of the city should have its firm
identity as its way in communicating to its people. It should help the
people to navigate the city well and entice people from the other place to
visit that city.
