My Philosophy of Education

Korrigan Sanford

My Classroom Environment
I want the students to feel safe in the classroom. I want them to be able to express themselves without
being judged. I want there to be positive feelings in the classroom. I want the student to get to know
each other through fun games.

My Ideal Classroom
My ideal classroom would be the tables in groups. The students get to sit wherever they want. I don't
want to put students with someone they don't like or aren't comfortable talking to. I want the
decoration to be happy and uplifting. And to have a theme. The students would get their own file in an
organizer so they can keep track of their work.

Student/Teacher Relationship
I would want the students to have a good relationship with their teacher. But the teacher shouldnt push
to get to know the student. The student should feel comfortable with the teacher before they open up.
The student should be able to ask any questions without being scared of being judged or made fun of.
The teacher should take the time to get to know the students personally by name by giving the student
time to learn about the teacher first.

Motivating My Students
If my students don't feel motivated to do an assignment, then obviously the work isn't fun or easy
enough. The teacher should make the work fun and not too challenging because when the assignment
is too hard, a lot of the time, the student won't want to do it. The teacher should use different activities
for the students to do. Doing the same type of work can get boring and the students don't like doing it.
The teacher should have hands-on activities so the students enjoy learning.

My Primary Goal
I would like to achieve the feeling that all the students are happy in the class. The students should be
happy when they get to this class. They shouldn’t be excited to get out of this class and go to another
one. They should like being in the classroom. When they leave, they should feel like they learned
something and are happy about it.
