Learning activity evidence: speak your mind

1. A political system is optimal not because it produces the policies that

you prefer. It produces the policies that much smarter people prefer.

I do not agree with any political system. A political system that is unbeatable
because it produces the policies that all citizens need no matter what
anyone prefers. On the other hand, policies that benefit a nation, town or
city are often the product of the work of the smartest people who use
science to discover a city's needs. Given the above, I believe that there is no
"ideal" political system, and all political systems seen by humanity have
always been flawed.

2. The ideal system depends on the cultural attributes of the population.

The ideal system has to help and protect culture and religion but be
separate from them in making decisions. Because, objectivity has to be the
main characteristic of an ideal system, so things like religion and culture
should not be so important in decision making.

3. Individuals should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on

their ability.

The right to education and work must be preserved regardless of ability or

any other condition. Everyone should be welcomed into the schools and
have the opportunity to apply for employment; such conditions allow and
promote discrimination.

4. Unlike the private sector, the government is motivated by public

interest.

This is an ideal statement for a democratic nation, since what we see today
is a very different scene; every day, senators, presidents, mayors and other
political actors are being imprisoned because of corruption, misconduct of
funds and many other issues originated by their own selfishness.
5. Taxes allow the government to create jobs and provide welfare
programs for people in need.

Taxes are angry but necessary. The government continually seeks funds to
pay for citizens' needs, taxes support spending on school roads, libraries, sports
facilities, fire and police services, and the salaries of county and municipal
employees.

6. Governmental programs encourage people to become dependent and

lazy instead of inspiring them to become hard-working and independent

Government programs do not encourage people to be dependent and lazy, but a

poorly designed program does. Government programs need to obtain conditions and
requirements to ensure the effectiveness of the assistance given.
