In 1961 Beaches Hospital was established in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. However, it was
changed into First Coast Medical Center in 1988. Finally, in 1992 Baptist Health enhanced it
and gave it the name of Baptist Medical Centre Beaches.

At Baptist Beaches Hospital, their mission is to provide excellent health care while keeping the
values of respect, quality and compassion in high esteem.

The Hospital is under a Hospital President Mr. Michael Mayo, and then there is Assistant
Administrator for the hospital. Furthermore, the Vice Presidents of the Patient Care Services

The organization “Baptist Medical Centre Beaches” is a "501(c)(3) Public Charity organization."
Furthermore, it is managed by a board of directors that work on voluntary basis. It is comprised
of business as well as civic leadership of the community.
In other words, it may be said that this hospital is a not-for-profit organization managed and
owned by the community, and not any kind of shareholders.

Baptist Medical Centre Beaches is primarily a research-based hospital, whose research wing
comes under Baptist Health Research Institute (BHRI). BHRI is currently overseeing more than
50 clinical research studies in a wide range of areas.

The management system of Baptist Hospital Beaches provides a secure, strong platform for
transactions within all wings of the facility; furthermore, it provides the facility to remotely access
the medical records of the patients, by physicians and other hospital staff members concerned.
Their HMIS enhances the "operational efficiency" of the hospital, making it one of the most
popular hospitals in the world.
Furthermore, Baptist Medical Centre Beaches uses the CPOE system to provide the healthcare
professionals with a facility, to access and alter the medication and patient records of the
hospital, as per the local, state and international healthcare laws.
However, the Baptist Beaches hospital does not make it to the list of Most Wired Hospitals.
