What I Can Do
1. The project was conducted to provide an alternative way for
cultivation of plants and fishes especially in urban areas. The
project aims to produce quality plants without the use of synthetic
fertilizers and to reduce the space and land use. It also aims to
create an aquaculture system that will be used for fish growth and
production.
2. The researchers compared the growth of the plants and the fishes
between the Aquaponics system and the traditional way of planting
and growing fish. Comparison between the growths of the fishes was
also done.
3. Results: It was shown in the results of the compared growth of
the plants and the fishes between the Aquaponics system and the
traditional way of planting and growing fish that there is a
significant difference between the two set-ups in terms of the
growth of plants, the color of the leaves and the number of the
leaves of the aquaponics system and the traditionally grown plants.
On the other hand, the results show that there is no significant
difference between the growth of the fishes in the aquaponics
system and the traditional aquaculture.
Interpretations/Conclusion: Based on the results, the researchers
concluded that the aquaponics system design is able to support the
needs of the plants without the presence of soil and at the same
time it is also capable of sustaining the requirements needed by the
fish
