• COVID-19 is a new type of virus and presents a unique
situation that none of us could have expected.
• Its contagious nature have resulted in school closures, social
distancing, and quarantine measures which have disrupted
our daily lives.
• In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, most countries
around the world have decided to temporarily close
educational institutions. However, learning has not stopped
but is now fully taking place online as schools and universities
provide remote schooling.

• Conservative’ estimates consistently indicate that students

will suffer a learning loss, will influence negatively both
cognitive and non-cognitive skills acquisition, and may have
important long-term consequences in addition to the short-
term ones.

• Self-care is a broad term that encompasses
just about anything you to do be good to
yourself.
• It’s about being as kind to yourself as you
would be to others.
• It’s knowing when your resources are
running low, and stepping back to replenish
them rather than letting them all drain away
• However, it’s important to note that not
everything that feels good is self-care.

• These self-destructive activities help us to

regulate challenging emotions, but the relief is
temporary.

• The difference between unhealthy coping

mechanisms and self-care activities has long-
term benefit for the mind, the body, or both.
